Action Bronson at Coachella 2013 (more by Wei Shi)
Action Bronson

The Bushwick Block Party is returning this year on July 27 across multiple stages on Moore Street between Bogart & White. This year's party is being headlined by Queens rapper Action Bronson, and also features sets by Pictureplane, Jamaican Queens, MC Todd, Death Threat, World's Fair, Galeon, Full Service, The Moon Dudes, Big Ups, Joe Bickle and more, plus the Tiki Disco.

The party runs from noon to 11 PM, and as usual, it's being presented by Bushwick pizza place Roberta's, so there will be tons of pizza from them plus a bunch of food trucks, including one from Action Bronson. 10% of all pizza sales benefit St. John's Bread & Life. More info at the Facebook event. Flyer for the party below.

In related news, you can also catch Jamaican Queens (ex-Prussia) sooner than that when they bring their tour with Sean Nicholas Savage to Brooklyn on July 18 at 285 Kent (tickets). Since we last spoke, art pop band Blanche Blanche Blanche and Regal Degal were added to that show as well.

You can also catch Blanche Blanche Blanche with Ryan Power and Co La at Glasslands (7/14, tickets) and at Silent Barn on August 21 with Cloud Becomes Your Hand, The Great Valley, and Son of Salami.

Tiki Disco

Calling all party animals. The third of a series of debaucherous Sundays will take place this weekend, when Tiki Disco takes over the Knockdown Center in Queens on 6/23. Featuring DJ sets by Eli Escobar, Andy Pry and Lloydski -- plus food and drink from Roberta's -- expect wild, drunken insanity. It's the last Tiki Disco event in the Knockdown Center this season, though the parties continue at Roberta's and Rippers in the Rockaways. The event is free and open to the public from 2 - 10PM.

Fiona Apple @ Winstar World Casino last night (via rideincircles)
Fiona

The brouhaha surrounding Fiona Apple's drug arrest last week just keeps going. (They're calling it AppleGate!) Over the weekend, Apple talked about her jail experience, or something like that, in Houston. It involves two "lock boxes."

Then, Hudspeth County Sheriff's department spokesman Rusty Fleming offered an amazing rebuttal that included this bit:

Two weeks ago nobody in the country cared about what you had to say, -- now that you've been arrested it appears your entire career has been jump-started. Don't worry Sweetie, I won't bill you.
Texas state law classifies hashish possession as a third-degree felony, so according to AlterNet, Fiona could be headed back to jail for up to ten years.

Fiona Apple ended up not playing Austin the night of her arrest even though she was let out that same day, but another woman musician making lots of news lately, Amanda Palmer did.

Meanwhile in Bushwick, Bill and Hillary Clinton were hanging out with indie musician Lia Ices, Joel Cohen, Gloria Steinem and other hip cats at Roberta's on Friday.

The great Amenra is preparing to launch Mass V, the band's new LP due via Neurot Recordings on November 26th. Check out the tracklisting, album art and a teaser video below.

Flying Lotus's new album 'Until The Quiet Comes' is streaming at NPR.

The Barclays Center opens this week. Will you be going inside or protesting out?

Speaking of protests, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra is on strike. UPDATE: Were on strike.
