San Diego's The Muslims are returning to the East Coast in August to play four more NYC shows. Last time they were here they played seven, one of which was at Santos Party House with the Vivian Girls. The Muslims pics from that show are in this post.
The NYC shows: The Muslims will open both upcoming Walkmen shows at Bowery Ballroom, play at Union Pool the following night (8/20) with Atlanta's The Howlies (great site guys), and then again at the clothing store Dunderdon on the 21st. All dates and more pics below...
Something tells me that Andrew WK is just amusing himself by calling the venue fomerly known as SANTA'S Party House, "Santos' Party House", but who knows...
Santos' Party House has prepared their downstairs space for a series of nightly pre-opening parties. Now you can come dance. The upstairs will be open soon.James Murphy says the name will be 100 Lafayette and the logo/URL agrees.
Santos' Party House is located at 100 Lafayette Street, one block south of Canal Street, Manhattan, New York City.
Santos' Party House is a two-level, 8000 sq. foot venue, centrally located in the downtown New York City, straddling Chinatown and Tribeca.
Focused on blurring the lines between music and art culture, the venue is designed to function as a concert hall, dance club, and lounge.
Featuring a top-notch, global lineup of weekly residents and one-off events, Santos' Party House has been built from the ground up to rival any venue in the world.
More coming... [Andrew WK]
Andrew WK is playing a 'live solo pianos' show at "Get Weird" @ the New Museum in NYC this Thursday May 15th. More details and stuff below...
It looks like they're shelving the name "Santa's Party House" for the much classier "100 Lafayette" (look at the logo!). This new NYC venue that is partially owned by Andrew WK is officially opening soon with a wide range of events including rock shows and dance parties. Supposedly there will even be bottle service (yuck).

It was exactly a year ago today that Gothamist wrote....
Andrew W.K. has also been working on his venue at 100 Lafayette, which he's opening with Spencer Sweeney. In 2005 they had a petition going, but we think things are moving forward now. We went to the venue for an art party held by (friends of W.K.) Paper Magazine not too long ago, it was beautiful, spacious and had multi-levels.Handsome Furs play Santa's Party House on April 5, 2008.
When it opens it will certainly be more than just a venue. Seems he made a little announcement to CMJ yesterday about the space, stating, "This is something I always wanted to do, have a space for all types of people to come and be creative, relax, and have their minds blown." While he added that the venue is yet to be named, we think it will be called (or at least at one point was going to be called) Santa's Party House.
