Menace Ruine

Menace Ruine will team with Sewer Goddess, Northumbria, Theologian and Requiem for a one-off NYC show on Saturday (12/1) at Acheron. To quote the band's vinyl home for their latest offering of industrial-noise-tinged neo-folk, Alight In Ashes, "This may be a rare opportunity to see them, as they are taking a break from touring and live performances for a while." Get yours at SIGE Records or CD-leaning folk can get their copy via Profound Lore.

Pallbearer at St. Vitus
Pallbearer

I had a transcendent experience hearing Pallbearer live last night at Saint Vitus... Their singer, Brett Campbell, is all about pinched, pained, soaring melody, in the vein of early Ozzy. To hear his bright, clear voice leaping out across the vast, doomy expanse he and his band lay down is downright startling, like witnessing a splendidly colored bird flying across a grey, postapocalyptic sky. -[DarkForcesSwing]
Doom was well represented when Nashville's Loss and Little Rock's Pallbearer teamed for a rare east coast date on Saturday at Saint Vitus (5/19) with support from noise/dark ambient crew Sewer Goddess. Both Loss and Pallbearer treated the sold-out crowd to full-album renditions of ther respective LP favorites Despond and Sorrow & Extinction, including vocals from Brett (of Pallbearer) on Loss's set closer "Silent and Completely Overcome". More pictures from the show are below.

After a sold-out show at Saint Vitus, the band headed on over to Acheron (as announced on twitter) to keep the party rolling, cranking out an hour-plus set to an enthusiastic late night crowd. Pictures from the late-night Pallbearer performance are also below.

Ulcerate at Public Assembly last night
Ulcerate

We had our van broken into in New York last night at our accom. We've lost all our guitar gear (preamps, effects units), some drum equipment, stage banner and all of Svart Crown's merch was also ripped off. We're going to keep going but this is a fucking terrible start. We had phenomenal shows in Philadelphia and NYC last night so this is an absolute kick in the fucking teeth. -[Ulcerate]
Ulcerate and Svart Crown played Public Assembly last night (5/19) as part of a bill with Tombs. The band's tour forges on. Best of luck guys.

The show was the same night as the sold-out Loss, Pallbearer, Sewer Goddess show at Saint Vitus. Pallbearer also played a boozy aftershow at Acheron later that night.

Loss in Nashville (more by Diana Zadlo)
Loss

After their injury and subsequent cancellation from last year's megashow with Disma, Oak and Coffinworm, Loss has been itching to make it back up to NYC to make up the lost date. Now the band has done it, and will team with the mighty Pallbearer for a show with Sewer Goddess at Saint Vitus on May 19th! Tickets are on sale for this BV/Order of The Serpent production.

It's Loss's only East Coast appearances thus far and one of only three shows scheduled tor them at the moment. They also play the Gilead Media Festival and Chaos in Tejas.

Loss's Despond landed on my favorites list for 2011 and Pallbearer, who released their debut LP Sorrow & Extinction this week, is currently streaming their excellent LP at NPR. Pallbearer will be down at SXSW this year for shows including a thus-far-unannounced-BV event. We'll keep you up to date. If you missed it, I interviewed both Loss AND Pallbearer in the past year.

Stream all of Despond below.
