Canadian singer Leslie Feist is the winner of the Seventh Annual Shortlist Music Prize for her album The Reminder. Feist is the second female artist to win the prize, following Cat Power who won the award last year.Feist just announced some tour dates, and is playing the Grammys. RCRD LBL is giving away a Portishead-esque song by Readymade FC with Leslie Feist on vocals.Feist is the first Canadian winner of the Shortlist Music Prize, joining Irish singer Damien Rice and Icelandic band Sigur Ros as Shortlist winners who hail from outside the US. Previous winners also include American artists Sufjan Stevens, N*E*R*D and TV on the Radio.
Cat Power (Chan Marshall) recently visited India, and visits NYC this Wednesday.

June 12, 2007, Los Angeles: The Shortlist Organization today announced Cat Power as the winner of the Sixth Annual Shortlist Music Prize for her album “The Greatest.” Cat Power is the first woman to win the Shortlist Music Prize, and was also a Shortlist finalist in 2003 for her album “You Are Free.” Cat Power was selected as this year’s winner by a panel of nine Listmakers including Franz Ferdinand, Panic at the Disco, Sufjan Stevens and members of Snow Patrol, the Killer and Flaming Lips.Tickets are still on sale for Cat Power's McCarren Pool show with Built to Spill in Brooklyn on July 7th.
