Leftover Crack at Gramercy in 2009 (more by Justina Villanueva)
Leftover Crack

Ska punks Leftover Crack will ring in the new year at Music Hall of Williamsburg on New Year's Day (1/1/12). Tickets for the Brooklyn show, their only one scheduled at the moment, go on sale Friday (11/11) at noon.

Stza Crack recently discussed plans for a new Leftover Crack album in an interview with Tao Lin. They talked about the Star Fucking Hipsters record release show at Europa in October and the future plans of both bands:

TC: Is October 11 the last SFH show ever? After this SFH album are you going to focus on another Leftover Crack album?

SC: SFH will play again, we just don't have anything booked at the moment. Things are hectic for several members of the band at the moment, so, we'll figure it out & should have news about touring soon. I have a few things to focus on beyond SFH in the upcoming months & next year & working on another Leftover Crack record is one of the higher priorities. We will start production in 2012 for sure...

Maybe we'll hear some of the new material at the MHOW show in January.

Some videos of Stza's acoustic set at Punk Island over the summer are below...

Chuck Ragan
Chuck Ragan

A reminder: Chuck Ragan goes solo TONIGHT (5/16) at the Bell House, a night of downtime for his tour w/ Social Distortion that hit Asbury Park on Saturday (5/14). Sharks and Sean O'Neill both open the Brooklyn show.

Chuck will hop back on tour with Social D in Norfolk tomorrow night, eventually making his way to Krazy Fest in Louisville where he'll join his still-reunited band Hot Water Music who will also play a few other dates in the coming months in the Midwest, and at NXNE 2011. All tour dates are below. Krazy Fest tickets are still on sale.

Krazy Fest

All dates and openers are listed below.

Gods & Queens are scheduled to play the 7/15 date in Philadelphia, and also recently played Public Assembly with Coliseum, Rise & Fall, Masakari, and Psychic Limb.

Battlemaster at Heart of Winter Fest (more by Diana Lee Zadlo)
Battlemaster

Call it the "heart of early spring" fest. Two stellar bands that roughed up the crowds at Heart of Winter fest, Battlemaster and Bastard Sapling will re-emerge from their coffins and team up with Inter Arma for The Charleston TONIGHT (Easter, 4/4) with Mutant Supremacy (who replaced Castevet on the bill). Later this year Bastard Sapling and Inter Arma will hit the road for a (much more) extensive US tour. Full tour dates below... lots of TBA's. Contact the band to help out.

Inter Arma have a new LP entitled Sundown due on Forcefield Records this spring. More on that soon.

40% of Inter Arma, 20% of Battlemaster and one Elway (of Celebrity Murders, CR, and Murdock fame) make up the great Bastard Sapling whose unholy rituals I managed to witness when they played Lit with Lightning Swords of Death.

Battlemaster are also on board for the third year of an absolutely insane free festival on Governor's Island. Punk Island returns this year on June 20th. The massive lineup features Negative Approach (!), Midnight, Nunslaughter, Star Fucking Hipsters, Infernal Stronghold, No Redeeming Social Value, and many other notables. The current and currently expanding lineup with some videos and those dates, below...

Stza of SFH, at Gramercy with Leftover Crack (more by Justina Villanueva)
SFH

Star Fucking Hipsters is a ska-punk/crust punk/Indie band that was started by Leftöver Crack's vocalist Stza and [then] drummer Brandon as a side project.. Unfortunately, Brandon died before the band was fully formed. However, Stza continued and... the band started playing shows in the New York City area early in August 2005.... Their debut album was released by Fat Wreck Chords on September 30, 2008, entitled "Until We're Dead". -[Wiki]
Star Fucking Hipsters have a new slab of tunes out on Jello Biafra's Alternative Tentacles label. Dig on a pair of tracks from that release, Never Rest in Peace, above.

The NYC band will hit the road for a string of dates with Anti-Flag, Cancer Bats and Aiden as part of "The Economy Sucks, Let's Party" Tour. Look for that to hit NYC at Highline Ballroom on 2/4/10. Tickets are on sale. Prediction: bottle service and the Highline Ballroom kitchen will not do well that night. The tour hits Starland Ballroom one day later. Tickets are on sale for that too.

More info on the SFH album and all dates below...

Leftover Crack, Star Fucking Hipsters, Trash Talk, and The Casualties are playing Irving Plaza on July 3rd. Assuming Irving Plaza doesn't get shut down (unlikely) (or even if it does), this punk show is sure to be a good time. Tickets are on sale.

Less of a good time will probably be had at the punk show happening at Madison Square Garden on July 27th. Tickets for Green Day's big NYC show are on sale (@ 10am). They are also playing a few shows at much smaller venues, and Saturday Night Live this weekend.

The opposite of a good time will probably be had at the same big venue on October 5th. The Ting Tings are playing MSG with Pink. Tickets are on presale (@ 10am). PASSWORD = LEAPFROG

Probably fun, but still kind of lame? Aerosmith and ZZ Top play MSG on September 14th. Tickets are on AmEx and Internet presale now, and go on general sale Monday, May 18th, at 10am. It's the same day Kings of Leon play Nassau Coliseum.

Back to good times... Ween are playing the Stone Pony's Summerstage in Asbury Park on July 18th. Tickets go on sale Saturday at noon. Gene Ween is playing Brooklyn on May 21st.

Same venue, same summer (move over Blondie, Pat Benatar and The Donnas): The Pretenders, Cat Power and Juliette (and the Licks) Lewis are playing the Stone Pony's Summerstage on August 9th. Tickets are currently on Ticket Rush presale (password = live), and they go on general sale Saturday at noon. The same three ladies (bands) have an August 22nd Colorado show scheduled, so let's home for a full tour with NYC date too.

Peter Frampton plays Stone Pony Summerstage on August 30th. Tickets are currently on Ticket Rush presale (password = live), and go on general sale Saturday at noon.

And don't forget Kylie Minogue tickets go on sale Saturday at 10am.
