Earth at Inferno Festival 2012 (more by BBG)
Seattle drone doom mainstays Earth are on tour now with Eagle Twin and Stebmo, and as discussed it hits NYC this weekend at Littlefield on Saturday (11/10). Tickets for that show are still available. The tour is in support of the band's most recent album, Angels of Darkness, Demons of Light II, which came out this past February. If you haven't heard it yet, you can stream it over at Pitchfork.
Speaking of great metal tours passing through the NYC area this weekend, the Converge, Torche, and Kvelertak tour hits Highline Ballroom on Sunday (11/11) with Whips/Chains. That show is now sold out, but if you slept on getting tickets, you can catch them a day earlier at The Stone Pony (11/10) in Asbury Park. Tickets for the NJ show are still available.
Converge are supporting their great new album, All We Love We Leave Behind, which if you haven't yet, you can stream in full below. Also below is the video for Torche's "Kicking" off their 2012 LP, Harmonicraft, the video for Kvelertak's "Blodtorst," off their 2010 self-titled LP, and a list of all remaining dates on the Earth tour and the Converge/Torche/Kvelertak tour.
Earth at Inferno Festival 2012, Oslo, Norway (more by Fred Pessaro // BBG)
Seattle's Earth like to take their time and let things go at a slow burn. But that doesn't mean they aren't up for hustling across the country on a month-long tour. Dylan Carlson and crew will rotate in a variety of supporting acts along the way, with NYC catching a leg of dates that will feature Eagle Twin and Stebmo. Look for that show to crash-land at Littlefield on November 10, and ticketing info is forthcoming.
In other news, Eagle Twin are preparing the release of their new LP, As The Feather Tipped the Serpent's Scale, via Southern Lord. Stream two new tracks, "Ballad of Job Cain Part II" and "Snake Hymn", at the bottom of this post.
So far no word on that Dylan Carlson LP, but until then you can pester him at the dates listed below.
