LA band Superhumanoids released their second album Do You Feel OK? earlier this month via Innovative Leisure. It's thumping synthpop that avoids the slicked-up, watered-down approach to that genre that continues to rise in popularity. It's more Empress Of than Chvrches, to get an idea. The title track was just given the remix treatment by electronic wiz Prefuse 73, and that makes its premiere in this post. Listen, and stream the entire album, below.
Superhumanoids are on tour now with Rush Midnight, and they'll hit NYC this week on Thursday (10/1) at Baby's All Right with the relatively likeminded GGOOLLDD. Tickets for that show are on sale now. All dates are listed below.
For GGOOLLDD, that show is part of their own short tour which also includes NYC on Friday (10/2) at Rockwood Music Hall. That show and most others are with their Gloss Records labelmates and fellow Milwaukee band, the Joy Division-y NO/NO (tickets). All of their dates, and music from them and NO/NO, also below.

Erasure @ ACL Live -- 10/18/2014
Though openers still haven't been announced for Erasure's two big New Year's shows at Terminal 5 in NYC (tickets), a variety of artists will be alternating as support for the English synthpop duo for the rest of the year. A non-Hare Krishna group called Shelter, a group called Nights, Chad Valley and Superhumanoids are among those sharing the bill with Erasure over the nest two months. The latter are on tour with them now and opened the show last night at ACL Live in Austin. They'll do the same at the same place tonight (10/10). Pictures from night one are in this post, and continue below with all tour dates and a stream of the new Carter Tutti remix of their new single "Reason"....

The record was made in Los Angeles with producer Louis Pescov (of Fool's Gold), who produced Best Coast's debut. Cults' debut full length will be released this spring via It The Name Of / Columbia Records, but you can listen to the first official track off the LP, "You Know What I Mean", now (streaming below). Cults @ Knitting Factory
Magic Kids couldn't make it to NY on time, but the show went on with Cults and Superhumanoids at Knitting Factory in Brooklyn last night (3/30). That said, Magic Kids have confirmed that they will make it to their sold out show at Mercury Lounge tonight (3/31) where the same lineup plays after an 8pm opening set by Whale Belly. Some pictures from Knitting Factory are in this post and they continue below...
Knitting Factory Brooklyn says, "PLEASE NOTE: MAGIC KIDS have cancelled their show tonight due to van problems. Refunds available BEFORE you enter the show, otherwise NO REFUNDS. CULTS and SUPERHUMANOIDS are still playing!"
Tonight's show is one of two NYC gigs on the tour, so hopefully Magic Kids get their van fixed before their scheduled show with Cults and Superhumanoids at Mercury Lounge on Thursday.
