Phoenix at MSG in 2010 (more by Andrew St. Clair)
Phoenix

First, Phoenix announced that their long awaited followup to 2009's Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix would be out this April, then they revealed that it's called Bankrupt! and made their first North American show announcement of 2013: New Orleans Jazz Festival. They've since been revealed as a Coachella headliner and now they've got even more North American dates scheduled, including one that's not too far from NYC: Columbia, MD's Sweetlife Festival, which goes down at Merriweather Post Pavillion on May 11 (about a 3 and a half hour drive from NYC). Their schedule currently has a week or so free on either side of of the Sweetlife fest...hmm.

And the rest of Sweetlife lineup ain't too shabby either. Joining Phoenix will be Passion Pit, Kendrick Lamar, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Solange, Youth Lagoon, Holy Ghost!, Gary Clark Jr, MS MR, and more. Tickets for the festival go on sale Friday (2/8) at 10 AM with a presale beginning on Wednesday (2/6).

Last week, Twin Shadow debuted new material at Glasslands and played the Sweetlife Festival in Maryland. How were the shows? A short clip of the brand rocking out at the MD show is below.

On Thursday (5/3), Twin Shadow plays the National-curated Crossing Brooklyn Ferry Festival with Sharon Van Etten, Callers and more (tickets are still available).

The Shins

The mysterious club that housed The Shins last night (3/8) was not too much of a mystery in the end; it was Le Poisson Rouge, a venue that has been known to stream shows for NPR on many occasions. Here are some pictures and the setlist.

Did you catch the show or the stream on iPad via NPR? What did you think? So far the LPR show and an aappearance on Saturday Night Live are The Shins' only NYC outings that we know aobut. They hit the road for a string of dates in April (dates below). Look for them in a town near you, and look for their new LP Port of Morrow due on March 20th.

One of those towns that The Shins will hit is outside of DC at Merriweather Post Pavililion, where the band joins on as part of the Sweetlife Festival on April 28th. The Shins with play alongside names like Kid Cudi, Explosions In The Sky, Fitz & The Tantrums, A$AP Rocky, and fun. with more still TBA.

All tour dates and pictures/setlist from LPR are below.
