Mixed Emotions

Brooklyn duo Tanlines (aka Jesse Cohen of Professor Murder and Eric Emm of Don Cab) are finally releasing their first full length after first surfacing in 2008 with their “New Flowers” single. The album’s called Mixed Emotions and its due out on March 20 via True Panther. That’s the cover art above.

The album includes 2010’s Settings EP standout track, “Real Life,” and the recently revealed first single, “Brothers.” “Brothers” is more of a slow burner than the tropical pop of Settings, but ultimately builds into an equally large dose of pop in a Cut Copy – “Need You Now” sort of way. You can grab that single above, or stream it below along with the album’s tracklist.

Tanlines have an upcoming local show which happens on April 12 at Bowery Ballroom. Tickets go on sale Friday (2/17) at noon.

They’ll also DJ when Norwegian 4-piece Razika (who made their US debut at Cameo in October) play Glasslands on March 12 with Landlady and Balthazar. Tickets for that show are on sale now. This is the only US date publicly scheduled for Razika at the moment.
