Agnostic Front @ Webster Hall
Agnostic Front

While I was checking out the brutality at Maryland Deathfest 2011 back in May (pictures from day 1 HERE, day 2 HERE, day 3 HERE, and day 4 HERE), NYC was keeping it brutal in their own way, with the 2011 edition of the Black & Blue Bowl. The show featured a headlining set from a reunited Gorilla Biscuits. We already posted those pictures, but there was also sets by Agnostic Front, Sick of It All, Terror, Absolution, Antidote, Maximum Penalty, Backtrack, Down To Nothing, No Turning Back, Take Offense, and Bottom Out. It was a serious bill for the NYHC faithful. More pictures and video from the mayhem lie below.

In semi-related news, Cro-Mags have a show coming up with Fucked Up at House of Vans. Cro-Mags played Bowery Ballroom on July 1st.

In more related news, Roger Miret (of Agnostic Front) will hit the road for a string of dates with Roger Miret and The Disasters. The week long trek is in support of the new LP Gotta Get Up Now and will include a stop at Trash Bar on August 19th. Full tour schedule is below.

Tickets are on sale now for Murphy's Law's annual Rocks Off Concert Cruise which takes place on August 10th. Hopefully they have more luck this year.

Shai Halud plays Party Xpo in Brooklyn TONIGHT (7/9) with Zombie Fight and many others.

Roger Miret dates, and videos and more pics from Black & Blue Bowl, below...

Gaza at Dudefest (photo by Metal Jeff)
Gaza

Ask anyone who caught them at Dudefest and they'll tell you, Gaza dropped-jaws and killed the crowd at the Indianapolis metal/hardcore festival, inciting on-stage moshpits and even dives into those moshpits. Things got a little looney.

Gaza also released the sinister He Is Never Coming Back in the tail end of last year via Black Market Activities. It was one of my favorite releases of 2009.

That all said, BrooklynVegan and 1000 Knives are proud to present the discordant and destructive Gaza at Cake Shop with the great Tiger Flowers on November 21st. The show is the final day of their tour following a string of dates with The Acacia Strain, The Red Chord, Terror, and The Contortionist.

Full Gaza dates and some video is below.

Mother of Mercy in Warren, NJ
Mother of Mercy

Agnostic Front will Victim In Pain it up once again, this time at Santos Party House on Oct 16th with a much younger cast of characters: Mother of Mercy, New Lows, and more. Tickets are on sale. The show looks to be part of a larger tour for the trio, though only four dates have surfaced so far.

Mother of Mercy are currently on the way to Chaos in Tejas, the monlithic hardcore/indie/metal/punk/all-of-the-above festival in Austin THIS WEEKEND (May 28th). The band recently played Warren American Legion in Warren, NJ alongside Foundation, Backtrack and Swamp Thing; pictures of that show adorn this post.

Foundation and Backtrack recently announced that will be back in our area when they team up with Terror for a string of dates that include Long Island and Clifton, NJ on July 2nd and 3rd respectively.

All Terror and Agnostic Front dates, and more pictures from the Warren American Legion House, below...

Happy Holidays! I take on more than I can handle. That results in a lot of unposted content. In the name of catching up, while also taking it easy during this final week of the year, here's some of that lost material.

10 for 10

The 10 for 10 tour featured somewhat different bands on different legs of the tour, but NYC featured the following in set order: War of Ages, The Ghost Inside, Crime In Stereo, Trapped Under Ice, Death Before Dishonor, This Is Hell, Vision, Terror, Poison The Well, and Madball.

Pictures from the July 10th show continued below...
