The Asteroids Galaxy Tour play Bowery Ballroom tonight and then multiple shows in Texas too.

Scissor Sisters don't get to Austin until Saturday. You can catch them first at Bowery Ballroom on Wednesday and Thursday.

Duck Down Records is celebrating their 15th anniversaray this year with a big showcase at SXSW. Among their lineup is Buckshot who also plays a BV day party on Saturday.

On Friday March 12, Duck Down kicked off anniversary celebrations at the Red Bull space in New York City. The event doubled as Dru Ha's birthday party. Video from the show of Buckshot performing his verse off the Black Moon classic "I Got Cha Open", below....

Jon Hopkins

As mentioned, the UK electronic musician and producer Jon Hopkins opened for the xx last night at Bowery Ballroom. He does the same at their upcoming shows in DC, NC, and GA before playing a couple of dates with Roksopp in CA. Two nights ago he played that free show at Le Poisson Rouge with Prefuse 73 and Mixhell. Tonight (11/12) there is one more NYC chance to see him at Mercury Lounge when he opens for The Asteroids Galaxy Tour who are also visiting from overseas and who also play more than one NYC show while they're here. If you miss tonight, you can catch them at the Tribeca Grand Hotel on Saturday (free with RSVP). All dates and some videos below...

Spacey and adventurous, Copenhagen's The Asteroids Galaxy Tour experiments with funk, folk, soul and '60s psychedelia. The collaboration between Mette Lindberg and Lars Iversen formed recently with the exchange of demos, ideas and quirky vocals. Adding soulful horns and guitar to basic pop rhythms, the duo embodies the sound of multiple decades. The pair's vibrant sound is amplified during live performances, when The Asteroids Galaxy Tour becomes a six-piece band.

The Asteroids Galaxy Tour's demo tapes quickly caught the attention of record labels, and soon enough, it was playing with big-name acts such as Amy Winehouse. Though the duo's debut album Fruit won't be released until April, it's already spawned the popular song "Around the Bend," which was featured on an iPod Touch commercial [below]. -[NPR's World Cafe]

The duo, who visited David Dye and the World Cafe in February, has been at SXSW all week.

Tonight (March 22nd), the Asteroids Galaxy Tour comes to NYC for a Le Poisson Rouge show with Heloise & the Savoir Faire. Tickets are on sale.

Heloise & the Savoir Faire also played Highline Ballroom with Deep Red on Friday.
