East of The Wall, in full on crushing mode (by Samantha Marble)

East of The Wall and Goes Cube are finally home. The pair hit the road for SXSW shortly after their 3/5 show at Union Pool and have been skipping around the US ever since, with Goes Cube tagging The End's official showcase on 3/18 and East of The Wall playing a succession of shows including Goodbye South By at Red 7 on 3/21 (pics of both below). The bands are finally back on tri-state soil and will play a FREE in-store at Generation Records TODAY (3/30) at 6:30 with Descender.
East of The Wall's appearance at Goodbye South By on 3/21 at Red 7 was a jaw dropper. The NJ band play a smoking instrumental prog/hardcore hybrid that is technical with out feeling wanky. Think Pelican with the occaisional hardcore vocal and a little more tech, but with TONS of energy.

Nadja's and their undulating waves of dis/pleasure (heicktopiertz.com)

Experimental doom/droners Nadja will celebrate the re-release of amazingly badass "Skin Turns to Glass" (cop it April 1 via The End, sample "Sandskin" here) tonight (March 7th) with a show at Europa in Brooklyn - a show that is also celebrating the NWOBHM (that stands for New Wave of BROOKLYN -not British- Heavy Metal, nyc-ers). Special guests include the mighty Bloody Panda, Tombs (who have a new song and are playing Europa again in May), Tournament (playing with Trap Them), as well as And This Army....
Tickets are still on sale and only $6! The show is part of a greater tour, which includes dates at SXSW with Made Out Of Babies, Giant, and Jarboe. More on Nadja here.
Speaking of Jarboe, scoot on over to Metalkult for a multi-part video interview with the ex-Swan as she reveals details on her frightening new EP collaboration with Justin Broadrick called J2. She spills the beans on her time as a sex worker, being a woman in extreme music, and her new record which includes guest appearances by Phil Anselmo, Attila Csihar (Mayhem), Josh Graham and many unnamed others!!!

Kickin off "Skin Turns To Glass" somethin' propa-like (due April 1 on The End), Nadja (who we were just talking about) will take it to the streets (and highways) for a US tour followed by a short swing through Europe with a stop at the astonishingly great Roadburn Festival in Tilburg, Holland.
The US leg of the tour includes a March 7th CD-release party at Europa in Brooklyn (with Bloody Panda & Tombs), and at least a couple of appearances at SXSW including the The End Records showcase where they will be flanked by Alex Skolnick Trio (of Testament,, and who is also coming to BB Kings), Jarboe (look for J2), Tub Ring, Made Out Of Babies, and Giant.
Speaking of North Carolina's Giant, the boys are currently working on their 'The End Records' debut and follow up to last year's split 12" with Tides.... Look for that later this year. All Nadja & Giant tour dates below...
