The Jayhawks @ Williamsburg Park 2012 (more by Chris La Putt)
The Jayhawks, who are coming up on their 30th anniversary, just reissued their three post-Mark Olson albums -- 1997's Sound of Lies , 2000's Smile and 2003's Rainy Day Music -- on CD, and vinyl editions are due out 9/30. The band will be touring this fall, including a stop at NYC's Town Hall on October 28 with Trapper Schoepp, and Westchester's Tarrytown Music Hall on October 29. Tickets for the Town Hall show go on AmEx presale today (9/3) at noon with a Ticketmaster presale beginning Thursday (9/4) at 10 AM and the general on-sale starting Friday (9/5) at noon. Tickets to the Tarrytown show go on sale Friday at noon.

The Jayhawks at Williamsburg Park - 9/15/12
The Jayhawks played a free show at Williamsburg Park on Saturday (9/15) with Chris Lee (with Steve Shelley on drums) and Nicole Atkins and the Black Sea. It was the last US show for The Jayhawks before they head over to Europe next week.
Williamsburg Park shows continue with Gotye, Givers, and Zammuto on September 27, David Byrne & St. Vincent on September 29, and Animal Collective and Micachu & the Shapes on October 5.

Field Report at BV SXSW 2012 (more by Amanda Hatfield)
Tonight (7/17) is the first show for new Brooklyn venue Williamsburg Park featuring Counting Crows, We Are Augustines, Field Report, and Kasey Anderson & the Honkies. Tickets for tonight's show are still available. Maybe this isn't the most exciting start for the venue, but there are a lot of cool shows coming up, including Refused with Off! on Wednesday (7/18), a big outdoor edition of Eugene Mirman's "Pretty Good Friends" with "special guests" and OK GO on Thursday (7/19), Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings and Antibalas on August 18 (FREE), Bob Mould playing Sugar's first two albums on September 7 (FREE), David Byrne & St. Vincent on September 29, Animal Collective on October 5 and more. The 2012 music lineup was announced today for Bumbershoot: Seattle's Music & Arts Festival, which is produced by non-profit arts organization One Reel and takes place over Labor Day weekend, Sept. 1-3, at Seattle Center. The 42-year-old urban festival stands on top nationally in its variety as it showcases both familiar and up-and-coming regional and national talent in many musical genres, as well as in comedy, theater, literary and visual arts, dance, film and children's programming.The complete Bumbershoot 2012 lineup below...
Bumbershoot's Mainstage in KeyArena will feature two multi-act performances each day. Artists scheduled to perform there include groundbreaking alternative rock band Jane's Addiction, jazz legend Tony Bennett, electronic phenom Skrillex, a hip hop double bill with Mac Miller and Big Sean, M83, and AWOLNATION among others. Additional Mainstage acts will be announced in coming weeks.
Tickets are all-inclusive. All festival offerings, including Mainstage admission on a first-come, first-served basis (no separate pass required), and late-night electronic music curated by Decibel Festival for Bumbershoot After Dark, are included in the price of a single-day or 3-day ticket

The Jayhawks are currently on a European tour that ends later this month. After that tour, they'll play a few dates in their hometown of Minnesota before heading out a North American tour in October and November. Many dates do not have openers announced but a few are with Tift Merritt. The NYC show, which takes place on October 21 at Beacon Theater is with Rosanne Cash. Tickets go on sale Friday (8/5) at noon with an "Internet Presale" starting Wednesday (8/3) at noon.
The tour is in support of the Jayhawks' new album Mockingbird Time which will be released September 20 via Rounder. The album is their first since 2003's Rainy Day Music and was produced by Jayhawk Gary Louris. It's also their first album with the classic Gary Louris and Mark Olson-led line-up since 1995's Tomorrow The Green Grass. Check out the lead single, "She Walks In So Many Ways" below.
Rosanne Cash some of her own upcoming dates, including some readings on her book tour for Composed, which she released on July 26. Her book tour hits NYC twice this month. The first time on August 9 at Barnes and Noble Union Square and the second on August 11 at PowerHouse Arena in Brooklyn.
