About a week after he had his own Superman moment, Jack White made a rare public appearance with his wife, supermodel Karen Elson, to the opening of the "Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy" exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's annual Costume Institute Gala on Monday, May 5th. [The Modern Age]

The superheroes exhibit will be at the Met until September 1st. College students (ID required) can also check it out during this special event happening Thursday night.....

Superheroes and Super Chic
The College Group at the Met invites you to join us for a super soirÉe in celebration of the opening of the Costume Institute's spring exhibition "Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy." Students will also tour the Wrightsman Galleries, home to the Museum's renowned collection of French furniture and related decorative arts pieces. The event will take place in the Great Hall and the Carroll and Milton Petrie European Sculpture Court.

I was also told that "the event will have food, a costume contest, tours of both galleries, and The Juan MacLean DJing."

K.I.M. (Or Kimberley Isaac Moyes as his mother calls him) is erstwhile producer/drummer/programmer and one half of THE PRESETS, Australia's foremost proponents of dashing pop/dance (non) sense and (not so) sensibility.

KIM and The Presets have new singles out on Modular. "My People" may be one of the first big dancefloor songs of '08. We already hear it getting dropped regulary in DJ sets across the country. Download it above. Listen....

The entire Presets album "APOCALYPSO" is out May 13th on Modular. K.I.M.'s "Fistrogram" single was digitally releaed on January 29th, and Modular was nice enough to give us two copies of a limited edition 'Fistogram (D.I.M remix)' 12" to give away.

We've also got two pairs of tickets to the Modular Monthly happening this Saturday night (Feb 9) at Studio B in Brooklyn. Joakim is playing with "His Ectoplasmic Band", and Juan Maclean is DJing. Tickets for the NYC Hot Chip show are on sale. You need the password. The show is at Highline Ballroom where Daniel Johnston is also playing, and where a member of The Clash played just last night. It is unclear which, if any, members of LCD Soundsystem will also be playing with Hot Chip, but it is clear that at least two of them (James Murphy & Pat Mahoney) will be DJing with Juan Maclean, Tim & Tim & Shit Robot at the DFA Holiday Extravaganza @ Studio B on December 14th.
