Here's one for those of you summering in the Hamptons. MNDR will be stopping by the Montauk Beach House this afternoon (8/11), performing a few songs with pal Mark Ronson who is DJing the club's "Poolside Frolic" party. The party is from noon to 7PM and there's more information here.
It's good timing on her part as MNDR's debut album, Feed Me Diamonds, is out Tuesday (8/14). You can stream her new single, "Faster Horses," below. Immediately following the album's release, MNDR will be opening for Duran Duran on a handful of August dates and those are listed at the bottom of this post. She likes these seaside shows... she just played a very big boat.
Speaking of Montauk, Frankie Rose -- who just opened for Little Dragon last night (8/10) in Prospect Park -- is playing the Surf Lodge tonight. (The venue's had cool concerts all summer.) They don't list a set time but shows don't get underway till sunset there. On Twitter today, Frankie said "Doing an all sisters of mercy cover set at montuk surf lodge tonight." She was joking, though I bet she could do a great version of "This Corrosion."
MNDR stream and a list of tour dates are below.
The Kills at Terminal 5 in February (more by Devan Council)

As mentioned, Montauk vacation spot The Surf Lodge is hosting shows (like the Dirty Projectors one in June) all summer. The summer is nearing its end, but there's still a handful of notable shows left taking place at the venue.
On August 11, Frankie Rose will play, the day after she opens for Little Dragon at Prospect Park (8/10). Then on August 18 it's Chairlift (who tour with The xx this fall) and a day later (8/19), The Kills will play, after playing their free Hudson River Park show (8/18) (which is "sold out"). As mentioned, Nite Jewel plays the Montak venue on August 25, and finally, Ra Ra Riot on September 1. More info at The Surf Lodge's website.
Nite Jewel at Governors Island in 2010 (more by Chris La Putt)

Krautrock Classics New York is presenting a show at Le Poisson Rouge on August 23 with Nite Jewel and Stones Throw artist Peanut Butter Wolf performing Kraftwerk's 1981 LP, Computer World, like they did in LA last month. The show will be with special guests Chrome Canyon and DJ Scott Mou. Tickets for the show are on sale now.
For Nite Jewel, the show is one of a few US dates she'll be playing this summer which also includes Montauk's The Surf Lodge on August 25 (where Dirty Projectors, Real Estate, and The Drums recently played shows), FYF Fest and MusicFestNW. She's also part of the recently announced Fun Fun Fun Fest lineup.
Nite Jewel recently made a video for "Clive" off her 2012 LP, One Second of Love. You can watch that video below, along with a list of all dates...
The Drums at Surf Lodge during Memorial Day Weekend (via)

Montauk's Surf Lodge, a restaurant, hotel and sometimes concert venue booked by C3 (Lollapalooza, ACL), have partnered with SPIN for two shows this summer. Dirty Projectors will play the venue on June 30 and Real Estate on July 7. It's about a three-hour drive from NYC, but is a great vacation spot, so if you're hoping to see these bands and want an excuse to go to the Hamptons, this would be a good time. Hopefully you won't have any memory-erasing experiences while you're there.
In related news, the Surf Lodge is no longer owned by Edgemere Montauk, LLC. Curbed Hamptons reports that it was recently sold to Michael Walrath's investmenet company, Montauk Properties, LLC. The lodge has also got a new team to help revitalize their guestrooms, landscaping, menu, juices, music, workout and more. The Summer 2012 Concert Series is being overseen by GrandLife's Tommy Saleh and Mandy Brooks. That series kicked off over Memorial Day Weekend with a show by The Drums. The photo above is from that show. No word on what other shows will go down this summer yet (besides Dirty Projectors and Real Estate).
The War on Drugs and Dean & Britta also have a show coming up in Long Island.
Dirty Projectors also have other upcoming shows including two in NYC: MHOW on 7/9 and Prospect Park on 7/10, the latter of which you can win tickets to.
Real Estate have other shows too, including a NYC show at Webster hall on August 11 with R. Stevie Moore and Andrew Cedermark. Tickets for that show are still available.
Updated lists of dates for both bands are below...
