Imogen HeapImogen Heap's latest record Eclipse came out August 25th on RCA and is streaming online. Her current tour will make two NYC stops. The first is a December 2nd show at Webster Hall. Tickets for that are already on sale. The second will be the next night (12/3) at Music Hall of Williamsburg. Tickets go on sale Wednesday, November 18th at noon.

For the first leg of her tour (of which NYC is the last stop) she'll be backed by guests Back Ted N-Ted and Tim Exile, who also open the show. In February, she has a UK tour lineup, and writes that more US dates are on the way for April 2010.

Her tour kicked off on November 9th at LA's Henry Fonda Theatre (after having to cancel the originally scheduled first night in Santa Barbara, CA because of illness). DANCE

A cold has prevented me from hitting many a dancefloor so far this week. As I mentioned at the end of part 1 of the Week In Dance, Micachu & The Shapes play the second New York show on their tour, at Le Poisson Rouge tonight (10/2). Check out a video of Tim Exile (who played Santos Thursday night) remixing Micachu & The Shapes, live, below and don't forget that following the Micachu show Martyn, Kotchy, Starkey, DJ Sharmaji, and Samiyam will also be at Le Poisson Rouge (11pm, now changed to 21+).

Pilooski @ Brooklyn Bowl - Sept. 26, 2009
DANCE

Last week was great music-wise! On the less dancey side of things, Gonzales showcased his great talent behind the piano, not to mention a hilarious sense of humor at Joe's Pub friday night. Early Saturday night Phoenix rocked Central Park to perfection, followed by a late night dj set from Pilooski at Brooklyn Bowl, completing the weekend's trifecta of musical talents from Paris.

Pilooski's set lived up to the two I witnessed previously. Starting at 1:15, and deejaying nearly 2 hours, Pilooski treated the modest sized but seriously moving crowd to a great variety of highly danceable tunes. From some of his own expert edits ("Crawfish" by Elvis, "Beggin' " by Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons, etc.), to disco, to even some harder sounding electro, Pilooski yet again, showed New York how a wonderfully diverse dj set could still be extremely cohesive and get everyone dancing. Yes, he's already been here three times this year, but I can't wait until Pilooski is back again. In the meantime, here's what's going on this week, starting with Thursday (10/1):
