"See you soon. MDF Thursday, I don't know how many shows in NYC on Saturday and Sunday in NJ." - Rorschach

Rorschach @ Maryland Deathfest - 5/24/2012
Maryland Death Fest

The Rorschach show at LPR this Saturday (5/26), that Converge was added to, is now sold out, but if you don't have a ticket, don't dispair. There are plenty of other ways to roar on Saturday courtesy of Black God who are now on an east coast tour. As previously mentioned, the Kentucky band that features members of Coliseum, Young Widows and By The Grace Of God, will play TWO NYC shows on Saturday, and both are sort of a mystery. The first, which was just finally listed on the venue's website with a "secret guest", is a matinee at ABC No Rio. The second is still just listed as "Sa 5/26 (night) - Brooklyn, NY @ Announced Day of Show!". Stay tuned!

Rorschach also play a show at Warehouse Motor Club in Middlesex, NJ on Sunday with Torchbearer, Too Many Voices, and Brain Slug (5pm, $10). They played Maryland Deathfest last night (Thursday). Review coming soon. That's one picture above. More below...

Burnt By The Sun at Cake Shop (more by Paul Birman)
Burnt By The Sun

After playing a "maybe" last show ever, Burnt By The Sun will return from the grave one last time (they say) to support Harvest with Torchbearer at The Studio at Webster Hall on July 20th. Tickets are on sale. The show is one of three scheduled for Harvest in the coming months. The band will also play July 16th in Minneapolis with Disembodied at what may be their last show too...

"Harvest is returning to play their hometown after not playing for almost 12 years. Disembodied will also join them and it is rumored that this is their last show. At first the show was being held at a same venue which only held 200+ people. It has recently been moved at the Triple Rock Social Club, which makes more tickets more available now. I believe theirs show will sell out again so if you want to go, pick up your tickets as soon as possible. The show will also have Relentless, Venia, Former Thieves and Iron Rain. All this bands are from the Midwest so come out support No Coast Hardcore." [Ill Cause Webzine]
Harvest's third upcoming show is the previously discussed Sound & Fury Fest in July.

In related news, Seattle band Trial have reunited and are also on the bill of Sound & Fury Fest. No need to travel all the way to California to see them though. They are playing a Panic Records Showcase at The Studio at Webster Hall in NYC on June 27th with Another Breath (their last NYC show), The Saddest Landscape, Powerwolves, and Don't Give A Fuck. Tickets are on sale. The date is one of four Trial currently have schedule, and they also played the "first-ever Panic Records Showcase" at Neumos in Seattle on May 27th.

All tour dates and some video below...

108

A hiatus, a reformation, a break-up, a departure and another reformation all were the prelude to 108's return to the stage on Saturday (1/8). The band played the first of two NYC shows that day (the first of three overall) at Cake Shop. The show took place earlier in the day, and was followed by the ill-fated Forgetters show that eventually led to the the Cake Shop basement being closed down by police (due to capacity concerns).

Cake Shop was predictably packed for 108 too, and the band easily delivered the best set of all the bands on the bill, much like they reportedly did a few hours later at an also-packed Death By Audio. Each show featured different sets and different support: Ensign, Incendiary, and Torchbearer opened Cake Shop, while DBA got Black Kites, Heavy Breath, and Primitive Weapons.

Disembodied at Santos Party House
Disembodied

Disembodied on the stage playing "7 Stitches" & karate dojo is open 4 biz. I'm standing in the "we've learned our lesson" section in back. - [yeahman]
It was a packed house; filled with fans of "satanic" metalcore, "X"-ed hands, and flat-billed fitteds alike as Disembodied supported deathcore headliners The Acacia Strain along with Syracuse's Architect, as well as locals Torchbearer and The Judas Syndrome at Santos on 1/16. The show was one of a short string of east coast dates for the recently reunited band that concluded in Holyoke, Massachusetts on 1/17.

After some time away, Disembodied is off and running, hitting the road in support of the recent collection of rarities, Palms of Sheol, out NOW.

Tons of video and pictures from the show are continued below....

disembodied

In the late '90s every hardcore band started their set the same way. The band prepped up gear and stretched for the exercise ahead of them while the singer jumped around like a motivational speaker with its head cut off, squawking about the scene and their major crush for each band that played before them. But not Disembodied, they were the odd band out in the era of zines and distros. Their sets began with a swelling, a growling of the bass, and when the whole band came in there was nothing positive screamed-Disembodied were the dark side of hardcore. - [Noisecreep]
Dissonant hardcore fans and satanists rejoice! After a few triumphant dates in their hometown of Minneapolis, out West and in Europe, the recently reunited Disembodied have returned to the east coast, scheduling an NYC date at Santos with Torchbearer on Jan 16th, 2010!

Disembodied recently dropped Palms of Sheol, "a collection of rare, out of print and unreleased material... that includes the Confession 7", Existence in Suicide MCD, compilation tracks, unreleased songs, and a cover of Metallica's "Creeping Death" (thx Lambgoat). Pick that up via Prime Directive Records.

Check out a ton of videos from Disembodied's reunion show at Chain Reaction in June below.
