Truth Club announce new LP, share "Exit Cycle" feat. Indigo De Souza
Recent Double Double Whammy signees Truth Club have announced their sophomore LP, Running From The Chase, coming on October 6 via their new label home (pre-order). It follows their 2019 debut Not An Exit, and marks their first LP with new guitarist/bassist/vocalist Yvonne Chazal. Drummer Elise Jaffe says Running From The Chase allowed the band to “hold space for criticism, critique, input, and inspiration from the rest of the band in any context.” Check out the album artwork below.
Truth Club's newest single is "Exit Cycle," a pensive, harmonic opus with breezy verses giving way to a soaring, layered coda. The song comes with contributions from Indigo De Souza and a music video directed by Skirts' Alex Montenegro. “This song will always be remarkable to me because, for the longest time, I didn't think it would ever find a home with Truth Club. It has the most ambitious vocal arrangement we've ever attempted, and through this arrangement, I was finally able to collaborate with one of my oldest friends and constant sources of inspiration. The emotional path of the song parallels the journey of writing it: It begins in the most private and insular place, and finally grows into a joyfully collective outpour," guitarist/vocalist Travis Harrington explains. Truth Club will be on tour with Squirrel Flower in October. Ahead of that, they'll play their hometown of Raleigh, NC, at Hopscotch Music Festival supporting Pavement. Tickets are available now.
