We already mentioned that Skygreen Leopards and J Fernandez have new material and tours hitting NYC's Baby's All Right pretty much as we speak, but what we didn't mention is so do Australia's Lower Plenty who are also on tonight's bill. They share members with Total Control, UV Race and Deaf Wish (who also have North American dates coming up) and make kinda-psychedelic folk on their new album, Life/Thrills, which comes out next week (9/23) via Mexican Summer. You can stream that in full (via Stereogum) below. Tickets will be available at the door for tonight's show.
After that show, Baby's hosts a Junglepussy show (tix also at door), and THEN hosts a third show with WIFE at 11 PM. WIFE is the Tri Angle-signed electronic project of James Kelly, guitarist/vocalist of the now-defunct metal band Altar of Plagues. It's a last-minute one-off while he's in NYC after the two Bear In Heaven shows he opened this week (pictures of MHOW coming soon) and is FREE.

UV Race / The Damned at Chaos in Tejas, 5/30/2013
The 2013 edition of Chaos in Tejas kicked off last night at venues all over Austin, TX (where it is currently slightly cooler than NYC). In addition to our BV Austin crew, BrooklynVegan/Invisible Oranges' Fred Pessaro is down there as well. In addition to The Bats and lots of metal, he caught sets from The Damned, UV Race, Mayhem Lauren and Blank Realm and you can check out more pictures from last night over at BV Austin.
still from 'Autonomy & Deliberation'
As discussed, UV Race have branched out into film with Autonomy & Deliberation, the band's new film and soundtrack. Now comes word that while on tour, the Aussies will screen that film at Williamsburg's Spectacle Theater on May 22, with a Q&A session to follow. This will mark the US debut of the film.
Did I mention that UV Race are actually going to play shows too? Why yes, I did. Make sure and catch them on 5/21 at Death By Audio with Warthog, Scott & Charlene's Wedding and Household
UV Race ALSO have a new 7". Stream that below along with a trailer for the film.

Total Control at Fun Fun Fun Fest 2011 (more by Fred Pessaro // BBG)
Yesterday news broke that UV Race were heading out on the road as part of a tour toward Chaos in Tejas. Part of those dates were with the great Total Control, though the band were not involved in the UV Race show scheduled in NYC for that week. (TC is some of UV Race plus Mikey Young of Eddy Current Suppression Ring.) Now comes word that an NYC show has indeed emerged for Total Control, and the bill is a whopper! Look for the band to headline 285 Kent on May 23 with Raspberry Bulbs, Crazy Spirit and Survival. $10 gets you in.
If you haven't checked out Total Control's recent 7"s (compiled into a single digital release) and their incredible 2011 LP Henge Beat you can stream some of those below.
Bill wrote in the post about Mikey Young's other other band, Oooga Boogas, "Trying to keep up with Eddy Current Suppression Ring-related bands can be a fulltime job." Now comes word of yet another related project, Lace Curtain, which is "James, David & Mikey from Total Control, Rat Columns, Rank/Xerox, Eddy Current Suppression Ring et al." Lace Curtain (singular) are not to be confused with Lace Curtains (plural) which is Michael Coomer of Harlem's band. Though it is confusing. Anyway, Lace Curtain have an EP coming out on DFA Records next month and can be pre-ordered here and you can stream samples over at Juno.
Updated UV Race/Total Control dates, plus those TC streams, are below.
We've known for sometime that Australian punk favorites UV Race were headed back to our shores for Chaos in Tejas, but now comes word that the appearance is just one of many for the band. Kicking off in LA in early May, look for UV Race to head Eastbound for a string of dates with also-Chaos-ers Total Control (which most of UV Race are members of). Unfortunately, Total Control will not join them at their NYC stop at Death by Audio on May 21 . Total Control join the tour for the May 24 Philadelphia show and then have three days off until their next show (in DC) so fingers crossed they'll make time for an NYC show as well. Full tour dates as they stand are below.
As mentioned, Mikey Young of Total Control (and Eddy Current Suppression Ring) recently released a new album with his other other band, Ooga Boogas, that is a must-listen if you like TC, UV Race and ECSR.
Meanwhile, UV Race dropped a film/soundtrack combo called Autonomy and Deliberation along with the Racism LP last year. Dig on the trailer below.

DOWNLOAD: Super Wild Horses - Golden Town (MP3)
Major omission from this week's This Week in Indie: Melbourne's duo Super Wild Horses are playing TWO shows tonight (9/16). First at Cameo Gallery with Reading Rainbow and Night Manager, then later at Death by Audio with fellow Aussies UV Race, Home Blitz and Pink Reason.
Their new LP on Hozac, produced by Eddie Current Suppression Ring's Mikey Young, is packed with fuzzy indie rock that has a definite early '90s feel to it. (Tsunami or Scrawl do come to mind.) Check out "Golden Town" at the top of this post. Its video is below along with all Super Wild Horses tour dates...
