Celebrating their 15th anniversaries in style, Montréal's high profile digital arts festival Elektra, and electronic music and digital creativity institution MUTEK, have joined forces, synchronized their dates and created one powerhouse combined event this year. To accommodate their ambitious plans, this two-festival-in-one affair, christened EM15, has extended itself by a day to make room for its shared agenda. Now starting on Tuesday May 27, programming runs six days until Sunday June 1, and will feature more than 100 Canadian and international artists, and several new venues. The multi-venue Montreal festival EM15 revealed its full lineup which includes Nicolas Jaar (with some his friends like Will Epstein and Sasha Spielberg), Donato Dozzy, Ricardo Villalobos, Lee Bannon, Voices from the Lake, Archie Pelago, Heatsick, Richie Hawtin, Ben Frost, Holly Herndon, Egyptrixx, Jonas Reinhardt, Oneohtrix Point Never, Tim Hecker and more. Tickets, including festival passes and individual show tickets, are on sale now.

Italian ambient duo Voices from the Lake (aka Donato Dozzy and Neel) have teamed up with The Bunker's new record label (the same people who throw the NYC parties) to release the followup to their 2012 self-titled debut album. The new release is an EP titled Velo Di Maya, and will be out on March 10. Resident Advisor says the relationship between The Bunker and VFTL began when the duo made their NYC debut at a Bunker party at Public Assembly in 2012. The label called it "one of the greatest nights of music in the history of The Bunker," and said, "We immediately got on them about their plans for the tracks. We agreed on our favorite segments, and they produced live studio tracks based on those excerpts." You can listen to clips of the EP below.
Voices from the Lake will return to NYC for a Bunker party, which doubles as their record release party, on March 14 at Output with labelmate Clay Wilson and Bunker co-founder Bryan Kasenic. There's also sets in the Panther Room by Portable, The Bunker's Mike Servito and Wrecked. Tickets for that show are on sale now. That show is one day after Julio Bashmore plays Output, and like Julio, VFTL are playing Detroit's Movement Festival in May. All tour dates are listed below.

Pitchfork just posted their Honorable Mention Albums of 2012, which they consider "20 records didn't make [their] Top 50 but they're not necessarily just Nos. 51-70." There are some similarities to their Overlooked Records of 2012 list that they posted halfway through the year. It also includes Frankie Rose's Interstellar, which did actually get Best New Music upon its release, unlike the other albums here. And it's got Waxahatchee's American Weekend and Jeremih's Late Nights with Jeremih, neither of which were reviewed throughout the year. Though they did review Waxhatachee (Katie Crutchfield)'s sister Allison's band Swearin', who also makes this list, and who (along with Jeremih) made Pitchfork's Top 100 Tracks list.

As previously discussed, !!! will be in town for a show at Music Hall of Williamsburg on Thursday (12/13) with Sinkane (who will open for Solange next week) and Yellow Dogs. Tickets for the show are still available and we're also giving away a pair. Details on how to enter to win are below.
Meanwhile, !!! frontman Nic Offer recently spoke to us about his favorite albums and songs of the year. Like Nic's own music, the list skews mainly electronic and electronic-tinged pop, and he makes room for a few other interesting inclusions too. Nic is also now the second artist we've spoke to to include the various artists compilation, Personal Space: Electronic Soul 1974-1984. You can check out the whole list below.

Italian ambient duo Voices From The Lake (aka Donato Dozzy and Neel) released their self titled debut full length earlier this year. The album builds off looping, trancelike patterns, but differs from similarly loop-based music by relying more heavily on textures than hooks. Most tracks on the album fade into each other, obscuring when one ends and another starts. But it's not an album made for the song-skipping world anyway -- its 70+ minutes are meant to be listened to uninterrupted. So if you'd like to hear it that way, do yourself a favor and pick the album up somewhere (maybe Amazon). But in the meantime, you can stream some tracks from the album below.
Voices From The Lake will make their live North American debut in NYC at The Bunker at Public Assembly in Brooklyn tonight, Friday (7/6). That show also includes DJ sets from Donato Dozzy and Neel, in addition to sets from Omar-S and Bunker regulars Spinoza, Mike Servito, and Eric Cloutier. Tickets for that show are on sale now. The flier for this show is below, along with a list of all dates and those song streams.
