The Arbiters
The Arbiters

In a recent Reddit interview with Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead music supervisor Thomas Golubic, Thomas said:

I do produce music. I have a mash-up music production project called 'The Arbiters'. You can download two EPs of music for free from my bandcamp site: http://arbiters.bandcamp.com. The first EP was inspired by Brian Burton aka Danger Mouse's "Grey Album" and was completed in 2006 and called "They Are Biters". The song "Sure Side of Fame" which was a mash-up of Lou Reed "Walk on the Wild Side", David Bowie "Fame", St. Germain "Sure Thing" and vocals by Biggie and Tupac got a nice amount of club and radio play. The second EP "Arrival" was released in 2010. You can download them both from that website. I use Ableton software to create them and work with co-producers who polish my ideas nicely.
Thomas's project is in "conjunction with music supervisor/producer Josh Marcy and film score composer Dave Porter" who is not in Animal Collective but is a familiar name to those who pay attention to the names flashing across the screen when Breaking Bad starts. According to their Bandcamp, "the Los Angeles-based mash-up production collective brings the underground aboveground with their seamless brand of intelligent bastard pop." You can decide for yourself below.

Recent music choices Thomas was likely responsible for include Junip in the 2nd-to-last-episode of Breaking Bad, and Badfinger's "Baby Blue" in the final episode of the same show. A lot of people then went and bought "Baby Blue", but who's getting the money?

The Walking Dead returns to AMC this Sunday!
