DOWNLOAD: Iceage - "Coalition" (MP3)
Iceage at LPR in 2012 (more by Fred Pessaro // BBG)
As mentioned, Danish punks Iceage are releasing their new album You're Nothing on February 19 via Matador and they've just revealed the first taste of that album with the new track, "Coalition," which you can download above or stream below.
The band already announced that they'll play a NYC show on January 25 at 285 Kent, which Raspberry Bulbs, Nomad, and Deformity open (tickets) and they've just revealed that the show is part of a whole tour which includes two other NYC dates. The day after the 285 Kent show, Iceage will play Home Sweet Home (1/26) (131 Chrystie St) with Pharmakon and Dream Affair. Admission for that show is $10 at the door (more info on the flyer below).
Then in April the band will do an east coast run with Vancouver punks White Lung which hits NYC on April 20 at Bowery Ballroom.
Tickets for the Bowery Ballroom show are not on sale yet but you can check ticketmaster for updates. Other tour dates include support from Merchandise, Milk Music, Hoax, and more. All dates are listed below.
White Lung released one of the greatest punk records of 2012 with Sorry and towards the end of the year they released a 7" for their European tour with two new songs, "Two of You" and "Hunting Holiday." You can stream both of those below.
Call of The Wild
Brooklyn's Call of The Wild feature an ex-member of Awesome Color, but this trio is on an entirely different trip. The band plays a style of garage that borders on Metallica-style speed metal on their forthcoming Leave Your Leather On, as exhibited by the first single to appear from the record, "Autobahn" (no, not a Kraftwerk cover). The premiere of that song is below and order your copy via Kemado if you're down (the record drops on 8/21).
Call of The Wild have been pretty active playing NYC shows lately, and will continue at Union Pool on Saturday (8/4) with a show as part of the ongoing FREE afternoon Summer Thunder series. There the band will be joined by Dope Body and local favorites GENTLEMEN for a 3PM show. Call of The Wild will ALSO join Tyvek/Wet Hair at Mercury Lounge the next night (8/5).
Check out "Autobahn" from Leave Your Leather On below.
Iowa City's Wet Hair are about to hit the road for a tour that has them paired with Tyvek for two NYC shows: Living Bread Deli (2 Knickerbocker Ave., Brooklyn) on August 4th as well as Mercury Lounge on August 5th. Tickets for the latter go on AMEX presale at noon tomorrow (7/11) with regular sale hitting on Friday. All dates are listed below.
Wet Hair, if you don't know, is the solo project from Shawn Reed who runs the Night-People label. Despite having his own outlet for releasing things, Wet Hair's new album, Spill Into Atmosphere, just came out via De Stijl Records about a month ago. If the summer isn't your season and long for cold night, long jackets and driving, '80s-style melodic basslines you'll want to check it out. The video for the album's single, "Camouflage," is streaming below.
Before the dates with Wet Hair, Tyvek will play the "anti-Pitchfork" festival known as Bitchpork, which also goes down soon in Chicago.
All Wet Hair tour dates are listed below along with a stream and video for "Camouflage."
