Colleen Green's great new album I Want to Grow Up is out this week via Hardly Art and if you haven't checked it out yet, you can stream it in all it's chunky, powerpop goodness below. She also just released a video for one of the album's standout cuts, "TV," which features parodies of sitcoms, crime dramas, reality shows and more. You may recognize folks from Girlpool, SLUTEVER, White Fang, Arjuna Genome, R.L. Kelly, Spirit Kid and others playing various parts in the video. You can watch it below...
Man, Burger Records is really feeling the Angus Soundtrack '90s kids lately. First they signed The Muffs and now they've booked Weezer for their fourth Burgerama festival happening March 28-29 at The Observatory in Santa Ana, CA. And that's not their only kinda-crazy booking this year. They've also got Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, the current version of Gang of Four, and of course plenty of awesome more expected names like Ty Segall, Black Lips, J Mascis, Ariel Pink, Roky Erickson, King Khan & BBQ Show, FIDLAR, White Fence, together PANGEA, The Queers, The Coathangers, Shannon and the Clams, JEFF the Brotherhood, La Luz, Girl Band and still plenty more as you can see in the full lineup below. Tickets go on sale at 10 AM PST on Friday (12/12).

YACHT at Treasure Island 2011 (more by Autumn Andel)
Dance-punk duo YACHT haven't released an album since 2011's infectious Shangri-La on DFA, but they did just announce a tour that kicks off at upstate NY festival The Hudson Project and hits NYC on September 20 at Mercury Lounge and September 22 at Rough Trade. Most dates, including both NYC shows, are with Burger garage rockers White Fang. Tickets for those shows go on sale Friday (6/13) at noon with an AmEx presale starting Wednesday (6/11) at noon for the Mercury Lounge show. All dates are listed below.
Though YACHT don't have any new music, they do have a new free iPhone app. What would a YACHT iPhone app be, you ask? A press release tells us:
The brainchild of Jona Bechtolt and Claire L. Evans, YACHT have also expanded on their creativity-fueled DIY ethos by creating a free iPhone app called 5 Every Day, an interactive tool that suggests five interesting things to do in Los Angeles each day. The selections are edited by YACHT and broken into five categories--Art, City, Food, Music, and Wildcard-ranging from architectural sights and hikes to art happenings, secret shows, neighborhood favorites, ethnic grocery stores, and club nights.More info at the app's website. You can download it from the iTunes store and watch its trailer video below...
The app has no calendar, no archive. 5 Every Day is an online tool, but it points outwards, suggesting and creating ephemeral moments that enrich users' lives, every day. YACHT is celebrating the launch of 5 Every Day with a blow-out party on July 24th at the historic Mack Sennett Studios in Silver Lake, Los Angeles. Like the app, and the city itself, it will be full of surprises, with more details to come.

LA trio Cherry Glazerr may still be in high school but they're already making a name for themselves, having released their debut album, Haxel Princess, on notoriously party-friendly Burger Records earlier this year. It's glitter-dappled, punky pop that's not scared to throw attitude or a Big Riff in your face. You can stream the whole thing below.
The band will be making their first trip to NYC this summer, with two shows on the docket: July 31 at Mercury Lounge and August 2 at Baby's All Right. with Sunflower Bean. Tickets for Baby's are on sale now; tickets to Merc go on sale Friday (5/9) at noon with an AmEx presale beginning Wednesday (5/7) at noon.

Mac DeMarco / FIDLAR / together PANGEA / White Fang
On Sunday, Canadian singer-songwriter Mac DeMarco was preparing for his set in the green room when we caught up with him. "I used to think Burger was just garage, but it's more 'anything goes' nowadays," said DeMarco. His set on the main stage bounced between funky guitars that shimmered and dipped low during a spaced-out rendition of "Ode to Viceroy," where DeMarco celebrated his favorite brand of cigarettes through song...In addition to Georgia soul singer Curtis Harding, the second day (3/23) of Burgerama III in Santa Ana, CA featured a lot of wild, widely diverse sets -- FIDLAR, Mac DeMarco, metal band Sleep, together PANGEA, White Fang and more all wound up the party-hardy throngs of crowd-surfers. Belated pics from Burgerama III day 2 are in this post.
..."I just want to get really high, smoke weed until I die," sang [FIDLAR singer Zac] Carper, who banged up his knees pretty badly early in the set. The letters for FIDLAR appeared above the stage in flaming letters that resembled the Vegas skyline on the Fourth of July, while the band scared the shit out of everyone by tossing small firecrackers into a puddle of water and beer that covered the stage - which at times, looked like it was ready to go up in flames. At points, the entire surrounding area smelled like gun powder, cheap beer, and weed. - [LA Weekly]
White Fang, meanwhile, bring their tour with fellow Burger band Denney & the Jets to Brooklyn's Glasslands on Saturday (4/19) with Hector's Pets on the bill as well. Tickets to that show are still available.
Nashville hellraisers Denney & the Jets will release their debut album, Mexican Coke, on April 8 via Burger Records. (Denney's previous releases were via JEFF the Brotherhood's Infinity Cat imprint.) The record was produced by Andrija Tokic (who was at the boards for Alabama Shakes' Boys and Girls) and is a heaping helping of southern fried, honky tonk rock n' roll. According to main man Chris Denney, themes on the record include, "Smokin', Drinkin', Cocaine, Youth, Rodeo Clowns, Fucking Around, Acquittal, The Blues, Family, Being Broke, Pain Pills, Hangovers, Hookers, Strength, Getting High, Addiction, Living, Dying..." Which of those come into play on LP cut "Bye Bye Queenie"? Have a listen and decide for yourself, the track makes its premiere in this post.
Denney & the Jets will be on tour this spring, hitting NYC on April 19 at Glasslands with their Burger buddies White Fang and Hector's Pets. Tickets for that show are on sale now.

Love holiday music but sick of hearing "Christmas Wrapping," "All I Want for Christmas (is You)" and "Feliz Navidad"? Were you just thinking, "I wish there were more low-fi sleezoid punk and pop Christmas songs that occasionally feature references to weed?" Well the folks at Burger Records are here to help. They recently upped a mammoth, 75-track holiday mix. It features The Muffs, The Explorers Club, The Three O'Clock, Shannon & the Clams, Cleaners from Venus, Devon Williams, Pop Zeus, Idiot Glee, White Fang and (obviously) lots, lots more. The compilation kicks off with "Every Year So Different," a funky number from Cornershop featuring TRWBADOR that is pretty good and there are some other real gems in here too.
