White Sea (M83's Morgan Kibby) / Twin Peaks / Albert Hammond Jr.
Even if you don't know Kibby (or White Sea) by name, you might recognize her sound. She's the voice behind Big Data's recent single "The Business of Emotion," she sang and played keyboard with M83 since 2008's "Saturdays=Youth" and she co-wrote hits like "Midnight City" for the French electronic music group.Lollapalooza 2015 happened during the final weekend of July in Chicago's Grant Park. We already posted three days worth of photos (Friday, Saturday and Sunday), and those posts included a couple shots of BrooklynVegan host and DJ Billy Jones interviewing Albert Hammond Jr on Sunday, but most of the Toyota Tent action was left out. BrooklynVegan co-presented/curated the tent, much like we're doing again this weekend at Outside Lands, and so naturally we also have this final set of pictures from that action.
"I think there are some musicians who figure out very early on who they are," she said. "I was not such a lucky writer and producer. Over the last 10 years, it's been a discovery." [Chicago Tribune]
Our potion of the Toyota Tent's schedule included live sets by by Morgan Kibby of M83's band White Sea, Twin Peaks, rapper Pell, Gogol Bordello, Of Monsters and Men, Lion Babe (who are on the new Disclosure album), and more. Pictures from all of it, some portraits included, continue below...

Lollapalooza is taking over Chicago's Grant Park this weekend with headliners Metallica, Paul McCartney Sam Smith, The Weeknd, Florence & the Machine, and more.
BrooklynVegan, SPIN and VIBE are returning to the sold out festival this year with a presence in the Toyota Tent which is located within the grounds of the Chicago festival. The tent, just north of the BMI stage, is marked "Toyota Sound Central" in this map:
Like previous years, the Toyota Tent will host live performances, live Q&As and DJ sets from 1-7 PM each day. Stop by to check out intimate, bonus sets by artists playing the festival (For instance, Glass Animals play the Samsung Galaxy Stage Friday at 2:15. You can then see them again in the Toyota tent at 6pm the same day).
Come see BrooklynVegan Lolla representative Billy Jones interview Albert Hammond Jr of the Strokes on Sunday at 1pm. Stick around to say hello to Toyota Tent host Yassir Lester, and to see Of Monsters & Men and Gogol Bordello play inches from your face. Come see BrooklynVegan-presented performances by Twin Peaks and Pell on Saturday afternoon. Check out the full weekend schedule below....

You may have heard by now that Scout LaRue Willis (daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore) has been protesting against Instagram's nudity policy by walking (and buying flowers) around NYC topless and tweeting pictures of herself doing so with the #FreeTheNipple hashtag. Via NY Daily News:
"Legal in NYC but not on Instagram," Willis tweeted about her snaps. She captioned another: "What @Instagram won't let you see #FreeTheNipple""This is about helping women feel empowered to make personal choices about their bodies not dictated by what society says is decent," she says.
Her protest came after the social media platform removed one of her photos for violating its Community Guidelines.
The photo that got deleted was one of a sweatshirt that depicted two topless women, nipples clearly visible.
"My comfort with my body should not be dictated by how others perceive me," Willis tweeted. "However, I don't wish to force this view on anyone. If you don't like what you see, simply unfollow me."
You may remember that in addition to having famous parents, Scout is also a frequent Nicolas Jaar/Darkside collaborator. Nico's pal Valentin Stip, who put out his debut LP, Sigh, on Jaar's Other People label earier this year, will next play NYC on June 21 at Cameo with Justin Miller and Evan Michael. Tickets for that show are on sale now.
Bruce and Demi's other daughter Tallulah (who some also call rebellious for her tattoo of a dog's head) is also involved in music. You may recall she teamed up with Odd Future's Tyler the Creator and Syd tha Kyd for Tyler's "Tamale" and is/was dating Lucas of Odd Future.
Syd tha Kyd also recently scheduled a NYC show happening June 6 at Baby's All RIght with White Sea, Morgan Kibby's (of M83) band who just played Sasquatch. Tickets for the Baby's show are on sale now.

Outkast / Foals / Chance the Rapper / crowd
Playing essentially the same set they've begun taking across America, the version with "Hey Ya!" in the middle instead of left for desert, there were no hints of the awkwardness some saw in the hip-hop duo's Coachella performance in April: just urgency. While both men are no doubt happy to collect their headlining cheddar, on Saturday night, their performance was about legacy. They appeared within a cube with black-and-white projections of the American flag, evoking their "Stankonia" cover art, and their banter guided the crowd between songs as the set pivoted from hits to deep cuts, remembering the days they rehearsed rap verses around the kitchen table and crowing over OutKast's eternal coolness before "So Fresh, So Clean." [The Oregonian]Washington state music festival Sasquatch went down this past weekend (its only weekend) for three days packed with loads of bands. We just posted pictures of Yelle from day 1 (5/23), and we've got way more pictures from the first day in this post, including shots of Outkast, Die Antwoord, Rudimental, Mogwai, Damien Jurado, Phantogram, Foals, Phosphorescent, Chance the Rapper, De La Soul, Eugene Mirman, Rhett Miller (of the Old 97's) and so many more.
White Sea (Morgan Kibby of M83) also played that day and just announced a NYC show.

Santigold @ Bowery Ballroom, 12/10/2012 (more by David Andrako)
As you may have seen last night, HBO's Girls won big at the Golden Globes, grabbing both Best Comedy series and Best Actress for creator/star Lena Dunham. At the same time Dunham was giving her acceptance speech, Season 2 of Girls (now featuring Donald Glover as Hannah's new boyfriend) was making its debut on the pay cable channel.
The soundtrack to Girls just came out last week and one of the songs exclusive to it is Santigold's "Girls." We've got the premiere of its video right here in this post. Shot here in NYC the cool little clip features girls from all walks of life (and all ages) lip-synching to the track and you can watch it below. The Girls soundtrack also features Sleigh Bells, Fleet Foxes, Robyn, Belle & Sebastian and more.
Santigold played Bowery Ballroom back in December and her only upcoming live date is at the House of Blues in Los Angeles on February 9. Video and Girls OST artwork and tracklist below...

Active Child @ Emo's Inside
"With immaculate vocals that are almost as enchanting as a Gregorian chant, ex-choir boy Pat Grossi, better known as Active Child, has put together an album that is enthralled in a romantic mystery of love. Active Child was once part of the Philadelphia Boys Choir as a youngster and is also fluent in playing the harp. Even though he is being compared to artists like James Blake and Bon Iver his musical background has given him the space to create music that is just as intriguing to the ear." [Karmaloop]Active Child is out on tour now, working their way towards NYC for a September 10th show at Bowery Ballroom with Com Truise and the UK's Young Athletes League. Want to go? We have a pair of tickets to give away. Contest details with more tour dates, a remix of Hanging On by White Sea, and pictures from Active Child's show on 9/2 at Emo's in Austin, below...
