Earth Crisis

Despite what you may think of latter Earth Crisis (personally not a fan), their first EP Firestorm is a classic of its time. The iconic title track, opening with its unforgettable "chug-chug" open string rhythm, set the tone for so many bands to come, reshaping much of the hardcore landscape in its time.

Now, 20 years later, Earth Crisis are celebrating the anniversary of said EP on a set of dates that include a stop at Santos Party House on July 14 with Shai Hulud (now with Chad Gilbert back in the fold), Thy Will Be Done, White Widows Pact (fka White Widows) and The Last Stand. Tickets are still available.

All tour dates are listed, along with a new White Widows video for "El Marrano" and Earth Crisis favorite "Firestorm," below.

Black Breath

After a Friday appearance at New England Metal and Hardcore Fest on Friday (4/19), OSDM/hardcore fiends Black Breath and Brooklyn black-metal punks Mutilation Rites teamed with Brooklyn's White Widows to play a pair of dates on the East Coast, including Saturday's stop at Knitting Factory on April 20.

The show was Mutilation Rites' first appearance back in Brooklyn since their recent Invisible Oranges-sponsored run with Inter Arma throughout March and the beginning of April, and their enthusiasm to be back in the borough was felt as they played a tight and dirty set. Emphasis on the 'dirty,' considering the bandmembers' inclination for spitting on each other in between riffs and growls.

More pictures and video of the pandemonium at Knitting Factory are over at InvisibleOranges.

White Widows

Members of Goes Cube, The Destro, Grudges, and Primitive Weapons have united to form White Widows, a young Brooklyn band ready to prove themself with their debut LP via Sacrement Music. The six-song self-titled effort shows the band's influences clearly, mixing 90s-influenced hardcore with parts that would sound at home on on a Crowbar or Pantera effort. Stream that LP in full below for the first time.

White Widows have a few dates in their path, including March 9 at Acheron with Heartless, and again on April 20 at Knitting Factory with Black Breath and Mutilation Rites (tickets). All dates are below

Eyehategod

Eyehategod completed their two-night stay at Saint Vitus last night (11/28) tagging support from Villains, Mortals and new band White Widows . Pictures from the show adorn this post. As discussed, the band played a grip of new material which they announced would be recorded when they returned home from tour. No word as to the home/release date for the new EHG material, but you can check out the setlist from the show below. If you missed it, check out pictures/review from night one HERE.

More pictures from Saint Vitus are below alongside the setlist. I split early from Eyehategod to head to WIERD to catch Pinkish Black, and pictures from that performance are HERE.
