NYC's recurring party of all things dark, weird and dirty, Nothing Changes marches on and as always there are some cool things coming up on the schedule. Martial Canterel, aka one half of Xeno & Oaklander, plays 8/3 at Home Sweet Home. Then it's Flatliner and Xander Barris on 8/12 at HSH, percussive DFA-signed duo Ninos Du Brasil playing Over the Eight on 8/15 after Warm Up, and raw California punks Tozcoz at HSH on 8/19 (they also play Don Pedro on 8/22 with La Misma, Anasazi and Pox). Full upcoming schedule below.

Flatliner, the duo of Jesse Strait and Adam Fangsrud who hail from the same Austin synth scene as S U R V I V E, are releasing their Black Medicine EP on July 28 via Holodeck Records. You can get a taste of that from the darkwave-y "City Lights Receding," which premieres below. Nothing Changes is their only upcoming date at the moment.

Mogwai at Webster Hall - 6/15/12

We're pleased to announce that we're in the middle of putting together a remix album, titled 'A Wrenched Virile Lore' it'll feature remixed versions of tracks from our 'Hardcore Will Never Die But You Will' so far we've got contributions from Tim Hecker, The Soft Moon, RM Hubbert, Robert Hampson, Zombi, Justin Broadrick, Xander Harris, Umberto and Cylob. The record will be available on CD, LP and Digital Download and we'll have more details on release dates soon.
Mogwai are offering a free download of the Xander Harris version of "How To Be A Werewolf" from their forthcoming remix album. Download that for the price of an email address.

Judging from the setlist from June 15th at Webster Hall, Mogwai did not enter into remix terrritory at their NYC shows, but stranger things have happened. The band played a two night stint at the venue (playing the first on June 14th) as part of a batch of North American dates that also saw them at Bonnaroo 2012. Pictures and the setlist from June 15th at Webster Hall (unfortunately none of opener Balam Acab) are below.
