Naam at the Action PR showcase at SXSW (more here)

Naam will headline Cake Shop on June 9th alongside support from Richmond's downtuned miscreants Cough, the rifftastic Elder, and Brooklyn's own Elks as part of a BV/1000 Knives production. $10 gets you in the door.

The show is one of a pair that Naam will play with the mighty Elks, as both will support Karma To Burn and Year Long Disaster at Knitting Factory on Friday (5/14). Want to go? I have two pairs of tickets and one copy of Karma to Burn's new album Appalachian Incantation to give away, details on how to win are at the bottom of this post. Appalachian Incantation hits store shelves on 5/18.

Naam is also scheduled to play the NY Eye & Ear Fest on My 23rd. Black Dogs, Liturgy, Effi Brest, Twin Stumps, Blondes, Hunters, and more will all play the fest over the show's two days. Tickets are still up for May 22nd, May 23rd, or both.

Cough last played NYC as part of the BV Northside Fest show at Europa alongside Doomriders, Sourvein, Unearthly Trance, and many others. Unearthly Trance will be back for Northside Fest this year, this time as part of the BV/1000 Knives production of Floor at Europa. Tickets are still on sale or you can get in with your Northside badge.

In between the dates at Nassau Coliseum (1/29) and Prudential Center (1/31, 2/1), The Sword will opt to NOT go shopping around Soho (like Metallica might) in lieu of another date in the NYC area. Tickets go on AMEX presale 11/19 and regular sale on 11/21 at noon for a January 30th show by The Sword at Bowery Ballroom. It's one of a few shows the band added to fill in the holes between Metallica dates. Some of the added dates are also with Lamb Of God who is also on tour with Metallica. Others are with Year Long Disaster.

Lamb of God recently announced details of their new album, due in 2009. The Sword recently released a video for "How Heavy This Axe". That video, and all tour dates, below...

"Triple H and wife Stephanie were in attendance at last night's Motorhead Concert at the Roseland Ballroom in New York City. The concert started off with Triple H's "The Game" theme music blaring over the PA system with the man himself appearing on stage. Triple H introduced the band and stood on the left side of the stage in clear view of the crowd for the entire 90-minute show. Stephanie was also there with Triple H, headbanging throughout the concert and "wearing way too short a skirt for a mother of two," according to the person in attendance. At one point, Stephanie jumped on stage to high five drummer Mikkey Dee. During their third song, Lemmy said, "I'd like to dedicate this next song from Motorizer to Triple H and his lovely wife." The song was "Rock Out," the theme for the Unforgiven pay-per-view. After the show was over, Triple H came on stage to take a final bow with the band." [Professional Wrestling Mania]

Motorhead @ Hellfest 2008, Clisson, France (drumsworld)

Valient Thorr has announced a tour with -you might have heard of em- they're called MOTORHEAD throughout September, including one date at Roseland Ballroom on September 20th. Also on the bill, AC/DC throwbackers Airbourne, what's left of Misfits, and Year Long Disaster.

Valient Thorr are also playing Bowery Ballroom with Early Man and Monotonix on July 25th. Early Man just announced a new EP for The End and Monotonix just played NYC with the F Yeah Fest. Motorhead is touring with with Judas Priest, Heaven & Hell, and Testament in August. The September tour dates are below (with more to come)....
