Milk Music at 285 Kent, 7/23/2012
Milk Music's US tour, which included a stop at Pitchfork this year (pictures), hit 285 Kent last night (7/23), snagging supporting slots from Zulus and Nude Beach. The show, their only NYC date, was the first in a year for the band, who last hit Death by Audio around the corner to support The Men in celebration of their then-new LP Leave Home (pictures).
Milk Music's Dinosaur Jr/Husker Du worship was well-received by the crowd, who bounced along with each song of their 30-plus minute set. Nude Beach had a similar though subdued reaction to their Tom-Petty-meets punk stylings, and Zulus' noise rock with touches of doom mesmerized.
Nude Beach play Grand Victory in Wiliamsburg (previously Bruar Falls) tonight with Serious This Time, Giant Peach and Haircut.
