this goes out to our busdriver... (more by Ryan Muir)
Gayngs

Official statement from the band:

Last night, GAYNGS' tour bus, containing all of the band's gear, personal belongings, and livelihood, was mistakenly driven across the country from Emo's Downtown, en route to the ACL Festival Grounds. Unable to reach the driver of the bus, the band reported the gear stolen at approximately 4:20am.

After a sleepless, worry full night, the band made every attempt to borrow and backline equipment so the show could go on, however, we regret to announce that we will not be able to perform without the necessary equipment that was taken by the bus.

We are insanely bummed out by these events. We can only hope to have the opportunity to make it up to all of you. Thanks for your support on this tour. It was truly a dream come true.

Due to unfortunate circumstances Gayngs regretfully has to cancel their performance on the ZYNC stage at 3pm-4pm

ACL is pleased to announce Lance Herbstrong will be performing at the ZYNC stage at 3pm. [Austin360]

Lance Herbstrong is on stage as I type this. Lance was also the unannounced special guest on the ACL kiddie stage on Saturday. More ACL coverage coming soon.

Gayngs' tour is now completely over. Last week they hit NYC twice.

the bus crash
Weezer

The lead singer of the rock band Weezer was involved in a bus accident Sunday that left him and another passenger in an upstate New York hospital.

Rivers Cuomo, 40, complained of rib pain and was transferred, along with one other passenger, to St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam, New York.

Cuomo's wife, daughter, and a fifth passenger on the bus were uninjured. The bus was traveling from Toronto, Ontario, to Boston, Massachusetts, for a show Monday night at the Agganis Arena at Boston University. [CNN]

Weezer and Paramore are the first artists announced for the 2010 NJ emo & pop punk fest (that occasionally throws in acts like Weird Al, Gwar, MC Hammer and Andrew WK) known as The Bamboozle (May 1-2). Tickets go on sale Friday.

Luckily Rivers and his family are ok (relatively speaking), but according to a statement on Weezer's site, "the rest of the December Raditude Tour has been cancelled". Their full statement and more pictures from the crash, below...

Wilco + Feist + Grizzly Bear in Brooklyn (more by Eric Townsend)
Wilco

"Driving overnight after the show in Munich Thursday night, the bus and trailer were hit and rendered immovable. The trailer was wrecked and the bus engine split. Everyone involved is fine and spent a day in Austria pulling things together. However, a replacement bus and trailer was supposed to arrive earlier today to pick everyone up in time to make the show in Milan tonight as special guests to Wilco, but it did not show up for hours and thusly we will miss tonight's performance. Rest of tour continues as scheduled. Italy, we will make it up to you." [Grizzly Bear]
The Wilco show in Italy was a one-off show on Grizzly Bear's current tour with St. Vincent (Annie is the opener. She plays solo.). Last week GB released a cool new claymation video for the song "Ready, Able". That video and all dates below...

What fans need to know:
1. The #351 Special Event Express Bus Service from the NY Port Authority Bus Terminal to the Meadowlands WILL operate for the Springsteen concerts. First bus will depart NY Port Authority (board from "Area X" located at 41st Street and 8th Avenue street level) at 4:30 PM. Roundtrip fare is $10 (all customers must purchase roundtrip tickets). After the concert, buses will depart frequently for up to 90 minutes or until all bus customers are accommodated.

2. The new rail line gives New Jersey fans statewide rail access to the Meadowlands Sports Complex with connections at Hoboken Terminal and Secaucus Junction. Fans coming from NYC connect through Penn Station New York.

3. Trains will operate between Hoboken, Secaucus Junction and the Meadowlands Rail Station beginning at 3:30 PM. There will be no dedicated event mass transportation to the Meadowlands Sports Complex prior to 3:30 PM.

4. The Meadowlands Train Station is located near Gate B at Giants Stadium

5. Return rail service begins immediately after the concert ends and will continue to operate for up to 2 hours after the event

Those are just some of the tips you learned if you took a look at the document linked in Monday's Bruce Springsteen post. That's the same post that lists which album The Boss will be playing in its entirety each night of the Giants Stadium run that kicks off tonight (9/30).

As NBC reminds us, "Nearly 85,000 turned out for the U2 event last week -- the largest crowd in Meadowlands history -- and the massive delays getting to and from the stadium (up to three hours each way from New York) caused some fans to swear off NJ Transit altogether." NJ Transit is hoping to avoid those problems tonight.
