Let's just forget (not really) about this hurricane thing for one second, and try to remember that today is also Halloween! What are you going to be? What were you for Hallowmeme? Need instructions on dressing as a Canadian Indie Musician? Are you dressing up your baby? And are you going to one of the limited NYC events still happening? Or will you just save your costume and hopefully wear it to the belated Halloween Parade that might happen next week.

As you can see in the photo above, BV photographer Chris La Putt (not actually him) found his costume and is going to be Instagram for Halloween (actually, he's stranded without phone, internet or power in Jersey City).

Speaking of BV photoraphers, we just found out that we posted a picture of Jezebel writer Jenna Sauers in her Halloween costume in 2009 (and drunkenly ate falafel near her at 4am).

One CT resident got a Halloween-themed surprise when Sandy uncovered a human skeleton under a down tree. They think it was put there hundreds of years ago when the area was a burial ground.

Of course not everyone is having an unhappy holiday. And many are still dressing up, like Miley Cyrus who is doing Nicki Minaj.

Dum Dum Girls dressed up as nuns and brought out the Dum Dum Boys, last night.

Governor Cuomo is talking to press as we speak. The Daily News summarizes:

Gov. Cuomo announced that limited commuter rail service on Metro North and the Long Island Rail Road will begin at 2 p.m. today--and some subway service will follow tomorrow.

The subway service, he said, will be supplemented by a "bus bridge" from Brooklyn to Manhattan.

While he didn't specifically say which lines will be back up, he did explain that there will be no service in Manhattan below 34th Street because there is no power for that service.

Bus service is back up and running fully today in the city, he said.

Meanwhile, three of the seven East River tunnels have been pumped and are free of service.

More service will be up and running " on a day to day basis," he said.

Cuomo appealed for continued "patience and tolerance" from New Yorkers.

I have to finish what I started, and I guess that would be compiling the world's biggest collection of people dressed as Amy Winehouse for Halloween. I was already up to 92 pictures. By the end of this post you'll have seen another 166. Some are great, and more than a few paired Amy with her boyfriend Blake Fielder-Civil. This photo falls into both of those categories....

Even more looked less like Amy, and then there were many Amys that decided to hang out with Pete Doherty instead of Blake - a pairing that makes a lot of sense from the English musician drug addict tabloid point of view. This picture falls into both of those categories....

After Amy Wino's hideous performance at the MTV Europe Awards last night, she was booed when she accepted an award for Artists' Choice. Pete Doherty immediately came to her defense.

He was asked what advice he would give Wino, "I wouldn't give her any. She's fine. It's all bollocks. People should leave her alone. I went for a drink with her earlier today and she's totally fine. Perfectly healthy and happy.
"People are saying she's out of control, but she's not. She's a sensible girl and she knows what she's doing. She ain't doing nothing wrong." [dlisted]
