Lindsay Lohan in practical desert wear at Coachella 2012
During the last minute plea talks between Lindsay Lohan's attorney, Mark Heller, and prosecutors handling her lying to cops case, the wayward actress told him to keep her out of rehab until AFTER the Coachella music festival so she could attend...The online site is hinting that it may be related to a budding romance that LiLo has with an "NYC musician and club promoter," but that is just supposition. Or maybe she's just trying to fit in one last desert party before the rehab gets its hooks in her. #priorities
"Lindsay was adamant that she not be forced to go to rehab until after the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in the Palm Springs area on successive weekends in April. Lindsay LOVES going to the musical festival, and she's determined to go this year. She didn't want a little thing like rehab to get in her way of attending. Linds refused to sign off on any deal that would have prevented her from going to Coachella, period. Yes, it's that important to her, for some strange reason," -[RadarOnline]

I guess it comes as a surprise to no one that ATP's NYC event I'll Be Your Mirror will not return in 2013 considering last year's turnout and the problems related to the company and the venue. That said, its sad nonetheless... I personally saw some amazing sets from the likes of Godspeed, The Make-Up & Hot Snakes during my one night at the fest. Hopefully this will mean a leaner and meaner event for 2014, but I guess that remains to be seen.

In the wake of the sell-out of A389 2013 in Baltimore, the label has expanded the two-day fest into a full extended weekend! A389 Anniversary will kickoff with a pre-fest show at Ottobar on 1/17/13 featuring Integrity, Withdrawal, Vilipend and Dead Gods , then come to a close with a Sunday matinee on 1/20/13 at Charm City Art Space with Left for Dead, Iron Reagan, God's America and Eddie Brock.

None of the newly announced shows will have advanced ticketing; you can only buy them at the door. Full show details are below.

Morbid Angel at MDF 2012 (more by Fred Pessaro // BBG)
In a nutshell, we will be returning to the property formerly known as Sonar, and will be at least doubling the amount of outside space that we've been used to utilizing...The additional space outside will allow us to comfortably accommodate the crowd, and will allow more room for the MDF vendor village, food vendors/food trucks, places to sit, and other new additions like misting tents to escape the possibility of it being hotter than it should be that weekend. There will be two outside stages plus the stage inside. Due to the new configuration outside, the placement of the outside stages will likely be different.Look for more band announcements to emerge in the coming weeks, including details on that hardcore/punk stage.
As for the building itself, there are some renovations currently taking place, but the rooms will be used exactly how they have been in the past, and it will be air conditioned throughout.
We would also like to announce the addition of a second inside stage at Baltimore Soundstage, which is a 1/2 mile walk away from the former Sonar (at 124 Market Place), and will be used from Friday-Sunday. This will be a smaller show without a barricade that will feature mostly hardcore and punk bands, and it will be scheduled in a way that should not conflict with anything going on at the former Sonar compound.
Afghan Whigs at Bowery Ballroom in May (more by Dominick Mastrangelo)
ATP's I'll Be Your Mirror with Frank Ocean (who played SNL this weekend) and the Afghan Whigs kicks off on Friday (9/21) and runs through the weekend at Pier 36 in Manhattan. Tickets are still available for you procrastinating types.

Stream it and check out the tracklist below.

In addition, Bolt Thrower will join Sleep, Carpathian Forest, Revenge, Abigail, Anhedonist and many more as part of another batch of Maryland Deathfest artists announced today. Current MDF lineup is below.
