Centro-Matic

Will Johnson of Centro-matic will be heading out on an acoustic house-show tour of North America with guitarist Anders Parker in late March and April. The pair are currently looking for lofts, apartments and houses willing to host a 35-40 person show on their planned route. The NYC/Brooklyn stop is currently scheduled for Saturday, April 10th. All dates and hosting info below.

The Texan (from Denton, located about 3.5 hours north of Austin) will also be making the trip to SXSW where Centro-matic will play a select few shows. One of them will be the BrooklynVegan Friday day party at Club DeVille on March 19th. They go on right before Lucero and after the Antlers. Twin Sister is also on the bill. More TBA shortly.

Will Johnson's tour with Jason Molina was canceled last December due to Molina's health issues. Their CD Jason Molina and Will Johnson came out in November.

David Bazan

The bad news: David Bazan's upcoming run of solo house shows, which includes a stop in Brooklyn on Mon, August 31st, is totally sold out (all dates below).

The good news: Tickets are still on sale for his October 18th show at Bowery Ballroom, and we have a bunch of tickets to giveaway to the Brooklyn house show, AND we'll be broadcasting that house show right here live on BrooklynVegan.

David's played hundreds of house shows over the course of his career, including a three-month tour last spring, but the live stream will be a first for him. At Brooklynvegan.com/bazan, those online will be able to participate in the show with a live chat and Twitter feed, from which Bazan will take a handful of questions for his customary live question and answer session.

It gets better. The house show tickets we're giving away also come with a free ticket to the Bowery Ballroom show (that Say Hi is also playing). Details on how to win, below.

The Bowery show is a part of Bazan's full-band tour this fall in support of his first full-length solo LP, Curse Your Branches. The record comes out September 1st on Barsuk Records and will be available via iTunes preorder. "Bless This Mess," from that disc, is posted above.

All tour dates and contest details are below...
