"I think I want to cry and die all the weeknd tickets are sold out" - Tasama TAH-SA-MA
Weeknd tickets being scalped via Instagram...
Not since... Kraftwerk, have we seen a ticket as in demand as the one that will get you into one of the just-announced Weeknd shows. Many people that got shut out are very upset, and some (like us right now in this post), are writing about it.
The San Francisco Weekly points out that one alleged woman is allegedly offering sex for Weeknd tickets on Craigslist, though some quick searching reveals that the artful naked picture posted with the ad belongs to "Julia S From FEMJOY" (who happens to be posing in the Tyrolese Alps) (NSFW). Of course it is possible that Julia S is a huge Weeknd fan currently residing in or near San Francisco. Or maybe the offer is real, but just not the picture.
Meanwhile the Weeknd plays his/their first show Sunday at Coachella (which starts streaming online for those of us not there, momentarily)
Not to be confused with the infamous tasered wizard of Coachella 2009, watch the NSFW video of the cops taking down a new crazy naked guy at Coachella 2010, below...
"Erykah Badu's naked stroll through downtown Dallas, Texas, for a music video has earned her a disorderly conduct citation. The singer shed her clothes as she walked through Dealey Plaza until she was nude and then fell near where President John F. Kennedy was assassinated. Badu said the video was "shot guerrilla style," without a crew and in one take March 17. A Dallas Police spokeswoman said earlier in the week that they wanted to press charges against Badu because children were present, but no one had called police or filed a complaint that day. Police now have their witness." [CNN]The witness probably works for her record label. Total punishment: $500 fine. Total free press from having to pay a $500 fine: priceless.

Erykah Badu @ Good Units
"Erykah Badu went for a stripped-down approach for her new "Window Seat" video. Literally: As the standout tune from New Amerykah Part Two: Return of the Ankh (out tomorrow) plays, Ms. Badu walks through downtown Dallas gradually removing all of her clothing until she is 100 percent nude. If that sounds familiar, Badu credits that Matt & Kim video from last year for inspiration. No word on what role, if any, Alanis Morissette played." [EW]You can watch that new video at the end of this post which also contains pictures from the second of two secret-ish Less Artists More Condos-organized NYC shows that Erykah Badu performed at this weekend. The first show (Friday night) took place at Damon Dash's open-when-it-wants-to-be basement space in Tribeca, Under 100. Class Actress, Grooms, and Skeletons were all also on the bill (video below). At the second, Saturday night, a very late Erykah (she left the crowd-that-got-smaller-and-smaller waiting for almost 2 hours), played with Spank Rock, MNDR, and Tony Castles at Good Units in midtown. Things didn't go so well for Spank Rock (who played 2nd to last)...
"During the final song, Spank Rock rapped something along the lines of (and I am paraphrasing here so my head doesn't get chewed off by Spank Rock die-hards), "wanting to fuck a white girl till my dick turns racist." Needless to say, Spank Rock got booed off the stage, something I haven't witnessed at a show in a very long time [editor: you weren't at the Fader Fort for Salem then]. He even tried to worm his way into the front row next to these two ladies I was standing next to so he could watch Erykah Badu and the two women were clearly horrified as they quickly spread themselves out to ensure he would not be joining us." Trip-Hop legends Massive Attack have released their new video for "Paradise Circus" (ft. Hope Sandoval) in support of their album, Heligoland, set to release February 9th via EMI's Virgin Records. The Toby Dye directed video features former porn star, Georgina Spelvin, and her candid look on filming the infamous adult film, The Devil in Miss Jones. Original shots of the '73 hit (NSFW) are interlaced with Spelvin's honest take on her physical and emotional state during the production of the film nearly forty years ago.It feels like forever that I've been waiting to hear the new Hope Sandoval-contributed Massive Attack track and it's well worth the wait though I could do without the distracting commentary by Georgina. I hope there's a version without her. I don't really think that The xx sound like Hope Sandoval, but this song definitely sounds a little like The xx. Listen/watch (NSFW) the video with the album art and tracklist, below...
Heligoland, Massive Attack's highly-anticipated 5th studio album, will feature guest vocals from Damon Albarn, Marina Topely-Bird, Guy Garvey and Tunde Adebimpe. Longtime cohort, Horace Andy, is also set to return alongside Massive Attack founding members Robert Del Naja (3D) and Grand Marshall (Daddy G). The prelude to Heligoland, the Splitting the Atom EP, is available now.
Yeasayer's February shows at Bowery Ballroom and Music Hall of Williamsburg are sold out, and they've added a third show, though it's not until May 4th at Webster Hall. Tickets are on presale now (password = oddblood).
Since releasing that interactive nudity game, the band have also released an actual new music video (that is also NSFW). You can check it out below...
Like before, they're still giving away the song "Ambling Alp", but now you download it while listening to trippy background music and attempting to get naked people in focus with your mouse in a new interactive video they just posted.
A deluxe version of Embryonic was released on October 13, 2009.It's no secret that Wayne Coyne loves people to get undressed. In the Flaming Lips' new video for "Watching the Planets", he even gets in on the action. It's embedded below, but that doesn't seem to be working so you can watch it at NME's site.
The deluxe edition includes the original 18 tracks (on two discs) as well as a bonus audio DVD which features the album in full dynamic range at 96k 24 bit audio. The CDs and DVD are in a "fur pack" with an extended booklet which features additional art, lyrics, and band photos. The deluxe edition also comes with a 14 inch by 28 inch lithograph featuring the full album cover. A limited number of pre-orders received an additional lithograph autographed by the band, shipped 2-3 weeks after the release date. [Wiki]

"It took Patricia Mudnich and Joshua Garcia two weeks, driving their RV about 3,100 miles in a winding route from Santa Cruz, Calif., to arrive at the Rothbury music festival in West Michigan.Rothbury happened July 2-5. Here are some (NSFW) pictures & videos...
Cool weather and a short wait in line after the campground opened Thursday morning didn't faze them in the least. The diehard fans of The String Cheese Incident -- the popular jam band which plays its only reunion show of the summer at the second-year festival Friday -- were all smiles.
"The lineup was so impressive, we could not turn it down," said Mudnich, 41, a high school English teacher who estimated the couple spent more than $2,100 on the long trip, including festival tickets, gasoline and side trips to tourist spots such as Yellowstone National Park and Mount Rushmore. "I used to go to these festivals all the time, but now I can only fit it into the summer."
For devoted rock fans flocking this week to the remote Double JJ Ranch from far-flung places across the United States and beyond, Rothbury has become THE summer destination.
Drawing an estimated 30,000-plus people again this year, many of the festival's devotees have logged impressive road and air miles to see their favorite bands -- from The Dead to STS9 -- with clusters of enthusiastic, colorfully adorned fans making the journey from Vermont, Florida, Texas, Nevada, Colorado and all points between in everything from compact cars and pickups to dilapidated Volkwagen vans and old school buses." [Wednesday] night after an impossibly drizzling/humid day, Neil Gaiman & Amanda Palmer performedat Housing Works Bookstore as a part of SPIN's "Liner Notes", an event that combines a musician and an author to discuss creativity. This was the second event of the series, the first being Augusten Burroughs with Tegan (of Tegan & Sara).Amanda Palmer plays a much bigger and proper music show tonight, June 5th, at Highline Ballroom. Housing Works is having a street fair this weekend. More pictures of Amanda and Neil at Housing Works, including one of what looks to be Amanda holding up a naked picture of herself, below...
The set opened with Gaiman reading a section from he and Palmer's soon-to-be released book Who Killed Amanda Palmer? The piece seemed to be a preface or at least an opening story to the book, a collection of photographs of Amanda Palmer dead with short stories by Gaiman.
After the story, Palmer launched into "Astronaut", the first song off the "Who Killed Amanda Palmer?" album, a great choice. [cupcake witch]
This is much more NSFW than the Matt & Kim video...
