Rape Attempt in Greenpoint

Here’s a disturbing story (not about me) that will make you think twice before walking home by yourself late at night.

“i was attacked last night at about 4:30 in the
morning on nassau near mcguinness (greenpoint). a car had
been following me for a few blocks when it pulled over, and
this guy got out and waited for me to walk by. i thought i could
just tell him to f*ck off and walk past him, but he wouldn’t let me
pass. then he grabbed me, and i couldn’t move. i was
screaming for help, and a couple actually walked by and did
NOTHING (seriously, i hope they go to hell). he was trying to
cover my mouth (i’m pretty sure i bit him), and he was trying to
force me into his car. he had a gun in his car. i’m almost
positive he’s a rapist. luckily, i finally broke free and kicked
him in the face with my heels as he was bent
toward the car. i think he was bleeding, and i ran
away. i made the foolish, drunken decision to walk home by
myself (though i was warned against it), which i’ll never do
again. sometimes i feel like greenpoint is really safe, and it’s
fine to walk home. i’ve realized it’s never fine to walk home
alone at 430 am. i filed a police report. i remember that the guy
had really short blonde hair and was driving a cheesy, black
sports type car. i would say he was around 30 and really
muscular and definitely Polish. the police are looking for him,
but they told me to make sure i told everyone i knew to be
careful because these type of crimes are never isolated
incidents. please don’t walk anywhere alone late at night, look
out for this guy (his face is probably f*cked up right now), and
BE CAREFUL!!! please repost this or email it to people you
know in the area or just tell people to be safe.”
