Big Boi in Austin in 2012 (more by Tim Griffin)
As mentioned, Big Boi had to cancel a number of tour dates, including last Thursday's (6/20) Prospect Park show, due to a knee injury. He's since recovered and announced a leg of rescheduled dates that he'll play this September/October. Rather than the big free outdoor show that Big Boi would have played last week, his rescheduled date happens on October 1 at Brooklyn Bowl, the same venue he played in April. No word on yet on ticket information for that show, but you can check Brooklyn Bowl's site for updates.
Thursday's Prospect Park show did go on as planned with long-running West Coast duo Blackalicious taking Big Boi's spot, and support coming from Phony PPL and D-Nice. If you missed them last week, Blackalicious play the Best Buy Theatre on Saturday (6/29) opening for The Cat Empire. Tickets are still available.
All rescheduled Big Boi dates are listed below...
The B-52s at Roseland Ballroom - 6/19/13 (via Mark Doctrow)
New wave legends The B-52s were forced to cancel some dates due to Cindy Wilson's illness, including their NYC-area show that would have happened on June 6 at The Capitol Theatre. However, Cindy got well enough for the band to make it here for their co-headlining show at Roseland Ballroom with The Go-Gos on June 19. A picture from that show is above, and a video and both bands' setlists are below.
Now that Cindy is doing better, The B-52s have also announced that their Capitol Theatre show will be rescheduled for November 9. Tickets for that show are on sale now, and all tickets purchased for June 6 will be honored.
Updated dates are listed, along with the video and setlists, below...

Fiest in the rain / casualty of storm / making the best of it @ Governors Ball on Friday
Yesterday's unrelenting rain made for a cold, soggy start to Governors Ball. Feist gave up after one song, saying "I think they think we're going to get electrocuted." Festival organizers then pulled the plug on the night:
Due to the high winds and unsafe stage conditions, Governors Ball has been suspended Friday night. The Current wind speeds have made it a safety issue to operate the stages. While Governors Ball and the acts would like for nothing more than the show to go on, the safety of our patrons, performers, and staff must always come first. Governors Ball will continue as scheduled Saturday morning. We anticipate gates to open on schedule. We are looking forward to great music and good times for the rest of the weekend.Good news for fans of Friday night headliners King of Leon, the band will play the main stage today at 6:45 PM. Obviously this will affect some of the other band's set times and you can see the revised schedule for details. The weather's a whole lot nicer today, but those mudpits probably won't be going anywhere. Look for a full recap and pictures of waterlogged Friday
In other news, Kings of Leon just announced their new album, Mechanical Bull, will be out September 24.
A$AP Rocky at FFF Fest 2012 (more by Tim Griffin)
As mentioned, Rihanna is on a tour with A$AP Rocky which was set to hit NYC this weekend on May 4 and 5 at Barclays Center. The May 5 show is still on, but the May 4 show has been rescheduled to May 7 due to Game 7 of the Brooklyn Nets-Chicago Bulls NBA Playoffs series. Barclays center CEO Brett Yormark stated, "We are looking forward to a special concert and I hope Rihanna will be our guest at Game 7."
Tickets for the May 4 show will be honored on May 7, and refunds will be available at the original point of purchase. Both shows are currently sold out.
As just mentioned, A$AP Rocky has been announced (along with Kendrick Lamar, Miguel, Wu-Tang, and others) for this year's Hot 97 Summer Jam at MetLife Stadium on June 2 (tickets). He also plays more NYC-area dates in August on his tour with Wiz Khalifa, Joey Bada$$, Rockie Fresh, Smoke DZA and others.
Updated dates are listed below...
As mentioned, Green Day cancelled a bunch of tour dates due to Billie Joe Armstrong going to rehab, including their Brooklyn show which would have happened on January 16 at Barclays Center with Best Coast. The band have now rescheduled those dates to take place later this year, and they're currently set to play Barclays Center on April 7. It's not clear if Best Coast is still on the tour. Tickets for the newly scheduled Barclays Center show are on sale now and all tickets purchased for the 1/16 show will be honored.

Swans at Bowery Ballroom in October (more by Fred Pessaro // BBG)
As mentioned, Swans, who managed to play Bowery Ballroom on October 28, one of the few shows that actually happened that day in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, ended up having to postpone their Music Hall of Williamsburg show which would have happened a day later (10/29). They've just announced that the makeup date for that show will happen on February 7 at Music Hall of Williamsburg. Tickets for that show go on sale Friday (12/7) at noon and all tickets purchased for the 10/29 date will also be honored. Otherwise refunds are available at the point of purchase.
Devendra Banhart was scheduled to play the original date (and he also played the Bowery Ballroom show that happened the day before), but he doesn't appear to be on the bill for the new one. He did, however, just announce that he'll release the followup to 2009's What Will We Be at some point (release date TBA) on his new label home, Nonesuch. The album's called Mala and it was produced by Devendra himself and his bandmate Noah Georgeson.
A live video of "Apostate" from The Seer live DVD and a list of all Swans dates are below.
The xx @ T5, 8/2/2012 (more by Toby Tenenbaum)
The xx's second of two shows at The Paradise Theatre was postponed due to Hurricane Sandy and the band promised nearly a month ago to announce the make-up date "soon" and has finally been announced. As you may remember, The Paradise Theatre suffered damages from a fire shortly after Sandy, so now the show will now happen at Hammerstein Ballroom on January 24. All previously bought tickets for the Paradise show will be honored and the show is sold out.

Paul Banks at CMJ Union, 10/17/2012
Hello to all,Paul pretty much said it all there himself but tickets to the new 12/14 Paul Banks date at Webster Hall are on sale now. You can stream the Interpol frontman's new solo album, Banks, in its entirety via YouTube below along with an updated list of tour dates and some belated pics of Paul from CMJ.
Regrettably, we are going to postpone the Nov 13th Webster Hall show.
The show will be rescheduled for December 14th.
Tickets that have already been purchased are of course valid, or refundable..
Needless to say, we were VERY excited about rocking out for our hometown crowd. But it will just have to wait.
Basically, Sandy managed to disrupt the preparations that are necessary to put on a good concert.
Again, I apologize for any inconvenience this causes any of you.
But I hope to see you ALL in December. You bring your cherubic faces, and I will bring the rock.
As mentioned, Taking Back Sunday are taking their debut album, Tell All Your Friends, on tour this year for its 10th anniversary that kicked off in early October and it comes to NYC/NJ this month. The band posted an update to their website saying they'd like to help out with the areas most affected by Hurricane Sandy. So in addition to their two sold out Terminal 5 shows (11/23 and 11/24), TBS have added another NYC show happening on November 16 at Best Buy Theater with Bayside and The Menzingers, which will be a benefit show with 100% of proceeds going to relief efforts in and around Long Beach, NY where most of the band members are from. Tickets for that show go on sale today (11/12) at noon.
TBS have also "combined" their two sold out Starland Ballroom shows, which would have happened November 16 and 25 but had to be rescheduled due to the damage done to Starland Ballroom, into one larger show happening on November 25 at Pine Belt Arena on the campus of Toms River High School North in Toms River, NJ. This show, like the Best Buy Theater show, is also now a benefit for Hurricane Sandy Relief. Tickets to both shows will be honored and more tickets will be available starting Monday at noon. If you can't make it to the new date, refunds will be accepted until 10 PM on November 19.
The band also plays a Long Island show at The Paramount on November 21, which is sold out.
Updated dates are listed below.
Action Bronson - Rare Chandeliers
Action Bronson was supposed to play Best Buy Theater last week (10/30) with Cypress Hill, but as mentioned, that show was postponed due to Hurricane Sandy. The new date for that show has been set and will happen on November 28 at Best Buy Theater. Tickets are still available if you don't already have one.
When we discussed that show being postponed, we also mentioned that Action Bronson was going to play a free show which was set to happen today (11/7) with Harry Fraud & friends and DJ Getlive! at Public Assembly. That show was also just rescheduled and will instead also happen on November 28 at Public Assembly, but probably due to the Cypress Hill show, Action Bronson is no longer listed on the event page or the show flyer. RSVP is still open and the flyer is below.
In related news, Action Bronson will release a free album titled Rare Chandeliers on November 15. The album was produced entirely by The Alchemist, whose album, Russian Roulette, Bronson appeared on. That album will feature the track "The Symbol," which you can watch the video for with the full album tracklist below. That's the fancy cover art above.
Video, cover art, tracklist, show flyer, and a list of all dates below...
Animal Collective have scheduled make-up shows for the Williamsburg Park that got cancelled last month due to Avey Tare's laryngitis. They will play two nights at Terminal 5 on December 4 and 5. The band's only other upcoming U.S. tour date is playing the UR1 Festival in Miami on December 10.
Tickets to the T5 shows go on sale Friday (11/9) to the general public but there will be a presale for those who purchased tickets to the Williamsburg Park shows, details of which are still TBA. The band will also be donating a portion of the proceeds from the shows to the Hurricane Sandy recovery efforts of The American Red Cross.
Meanwhile, AnCo have a new single, "Applesauce," that is being pulled from Cetipede Hz and will be out next week (11/13). You can stream its b-side, "Crimson," below.
Hospitality at Brooklyn Bowl, August 2012 (more by Dominick Mastrangelo)
Though copies have surfaced on the road in the days prior, Hospitality released a new 7" via Merge on 10/30 featuring a pair of new jams in "Monkey" (streamable below) and "The Drift". Though the band was forced to cancel an outing at Bowery Ballroom on 11/2 due to some jerk named Sandy, the band is ready to go with another date in its stead: January 10th at Bowery Ballroom with TEEN. TIckets are still available for the show, or you can use the ticket you already had for the cancelled show, or roll the dice and try to win a pair along with said 7". Details on how are below.
Hospitality is scheduled to lay low until that Bowery date, but you can still catch TEEN in Brooklyn at Knitting Factory on 12/15 with Guards (tickets). Until then, dig on some streams while entering the contest below....

The Squarepusher, Bonobo (DJ), Holy Fuck, and Mount Kimbie show at Terminal 5 is still on, and there will be drink specials before Squarepusher's headlining set. The Freelance Whales show at Webster Hall
is still on too, but with recent reports from ConEd about the power situation in lower Manhattan, it wouldn't be surprising if that show gets cancelled. UPDATE: Yep, postponed.
UPDATE: Todd Barry's show at the Bell House is postponed.
The Darcys were supposed to play Mercury Lounge on Thursday (11/1) with Rey Pila but it has been postponed to November 6.
The Tom Tom Club show at Brooklyn Bowl is still on as of this post (and looking good considering the Big Freedia Halloween show is going on as scheduled).
The Chris Gethard Show is presenting a show on Thursday at Littlefield called "Come Take A Ride With The Weirdest Bands We Know" that features Big Digits, Stumblebum Brass Band, Naked Heroes and Mindtroll. Tickets for that show are on sale now.

We're still keeping tabs on the status of Santos Party House and we'll let you know when we have more info. As of now, the show is still on with Wolf Gang, Alex Metric, The Royal Concept, and Atlas Genius. They tweeted "We're still sorting things out, cross your fingers and stay posted." Molly Nilsson has been over in North America from Berlin for her tour which kicked off in NYC at Littlefield on September 6 and was supposed to conclude with a Glasslands show on Sunday (10/28) with Cat Martino, but that show was cancelled due to Hurricane Sandy. Tickets for the newly scheduled date are available and any tickets purchased for the Glasslands show will also be honored.

Dita Von Teese is scheduled to play four Halloween-time burlesque shows at NYC's Gramercy Theater on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday...
Latest Strip Strip Hooray NYC update: if you have tickets for the Oct 30th show, that may be moved to Thursday, November 1st to a late night 2nd show. More updates coming, but this looks like our best solution due to the storm and transportation issues for ticket holders. I will confirm this sometime tomorrow.Tomorrow is today. We're standing by. Meanwhile, check ticketmaster for tickets.
UPDATE: Tuesday's show is cancelled, and a 2nd show on Thursday has been added. Dita says:
Like other NYC shows, tomorrow's StripStripHooray! show is cancelled. Tix will be refunded & we are adding a 2nd show on Thursday night, so I will be posting that link soon. Unfortunately, you must buy new tickets for that show. More info to come, stay tuned & stay safe! VIP Meet & Greet ticketholders will be contacted individually by phone. And then she said:
Http://Teese.us/4x to buy tickets for Thursday's makeup show.---
I know that many of you will find reasons to be angry about the cancellation, but all the shows are closing, plus we have no choice because there is no power and no transportation for people trying to make it to the shows. (Not to mention no tech rehearsals!) The good news is that right now, you can get good tickets for the Tuesday show if you act fast...plus it's our last show, so it will be the wildest one! We promise!
Thank you for understanding.
Meanwhile, I am here playing UNO by candlelight at my hotel with friends.
Looking forward to basking in the pink spotlight!
As you've surely known for a while now if you bought a ticket to tonight's NYC show at Best Buy Theater, that Adam Ant show was postponed to October 6th. Tickets for the new NYC date are on sale, and all dates are listed below...
Unfortunately, Helm was unable to attend the awards show due to an undisclosed "medical procedure" which also forced the postponement of his February 10th show at the Wellmont Theater in NJ. He's also sitting out of the next Midnight Ramble. His site reads: "Levon will be undergoing a medical procedure that will necessitate his absence from the February 25th Ramble. We wish him the best and we know he will have a speedy recovery. We'll continue with the normal Ramble schedule with special guests joining the band." We also wish him the best and a speedy recovery!" The last Ramble happened on 2/4 (they've been on a break since).
Things are looking good though because tickets are already on sale for a makeup NJ show taking place April 6 at The Wellmont Theatre. All tickets purchased for the canceled performance will also be honored at the show in April. Levon's next scheduled show is March 2nd in MA. All dates are listed below.
All Levon Helm, and all Deer Tick tour dates are listed below.
