Smashing Pumpkins haven't announced a new date for their postponed Brooklyn Halloween show yet, but they have announced they'll be playing their cancelled NJ and and VA dates on 12/8 and 12/9. Four dates total are now postponed due to Sandy. They're all listed below.
Sandy can't stop Halloween (photo via)
We just posted the many NYC cancellations for tonight/Halloween (though more shows are still happening tonight than previous nights), and there's already a few cancellations being announced for Thursday (11/1).
The Meat Loaf show at Beacon Theatre, which was supposed to happen on Thursday has been postponed to a later date. An announcement on the new date is forthcoming.
Woodkid was forced to cancel his dates in NYC, San Francisco, and LA due to the hurricane and its effect on major airports. The NYC show was supposed to happen Thursday (11/1) at Irving Plaza and will be rescheduled to a TBA date. Tickets are refundable at the reseller.
As mentioned, the ESG show at Bowery Electric with Sinkane has been postponed to a later date TBD in December/January. The Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black show that was moved to Thursday from Tuesday (10/30) has been cancelled.
As mentioned, all Dita Von Teese shows have been cancelled.
The Squarepusher, Bonobo (DJ), Holy Fuck, and Mount Kimbie show at Terminal 5 is still on, and there will be drink specials before Squarepusher's headlining set. Squarepusher just played Moogfest in Asheville over the weekend, but had to cancel other dates on the tour after that, including his show in Silver Spring, MD on Monday (10/29) and his Boston show tonight (10/31).
The Freelance Whales show at Webster Hall
is still on too, but with recent reports from ConEd about the power situation in lower Manhattan, it wouldn't be surprising if that show gets cancelled. UPDATE: Yep, postponed.
UPDATE: Todd Barry's show at the Bell House is postponed.
The Darcys were supposed to play Mercury Lounge on Thursday (11/1) with Rey Pila but it has been postponed to November 6.
The Tom Tom Club show at Brooklyn Bowl is still on as of this post (and looking good considering the Big Freedia Halloween show is going on as scheduled).
The Chris Gethard Show is presenting a show on Thursday at Littlefield called "Come Take A Ride With The Weirdest Bands We Know" that features Big Digits, Stumblebum Brass Band, Naked Heroes and Mindtroll. Tickets for that show are on sale now.

We're still keeping tabs on the status of Santos Party House and we'll let you know when we have more info. As of now, the show is still on with Wolf Gang, Alex Metric, The Royal Concept, and Atlas Genius. They tweeted "We're still sorting things out, cross your fingers and stay posted." Tickets are on sale.
Over at Carnegie Hall, the performance by the Orchestra of St. Luke's with conductor Nicholas McGegan that was to be in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage, has been rescheduled for Saturday, June 1 with soloist to be announced. The xx at Terminal 5 in August (more by Toby Tenenbaum)
As mentioned, The xx were forced to cancel shows in NYC, Philadelphia, and Baltimore this week due to Hurricane Sandy but promised that they would make up for them in 2013. Well the band has acted quickly and announced a 2013 tour, which includes the rescheduled Philly and Baltimore dates, and they note on facebook that there are "details of a rescheduled New York date to come very soon." The rescheduled shows will honor all tickets for the cancelled shows and presales for most of the other shows begin Thursday (11/1) at 10 AM with general on-sales beginning Friday (11/2) at 10 AM.
All dates are listed below.
Molly Nilsson has been over in North America from Berlin for her tour which kicked off in NYC at Littlefield on September 6 and was supposed to conclude with a Glasslands show on Sunday (10/28) with Cat Martino, but that show was cancelled due to Hurricane Sandy. Molly will be hanging around for a bit though (possibly because she has no choice) and will instead play with Cat Martino on November 4 at Public Assembly. Tickets for the newly scheduled date are available and any tickets purchased for the Glasslands show will also be honored.
A Molly Nilsson video is below...
Dita Von Teese is scheduled to play four Halloween-time burlesque shows at NYC's Gramercy Theater on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday...
Latest Strip Strip Hooray NYC update: if you have tickets for the Oct 30th show, that may be moved to Thursday, November 1st to a late night 2nd show. More updates coming, but this looks like our best solution due to the storm and transportation issues for ticket holders. I will confirm this sometime tomorrow.Tomorrow is today. We're standing by. Meanwhile, check ticketmaster for tickets.
UPDATE: Tuesday's show is cancelled, and a 2nd show on Thursday has been added. Dita says:
Like other NYC shows, tomorrow's StripStripHooray! show is cancelled. Tix will be refunded & we are adding a 2nd show on Thursday night, so I will be posting that link soon. Unfortunately, you must buy new tickets for that show. More info to come, stay tuned & stay safe! VIP Meet & Greet ticketholders will be contacted individually by phone. And then she said:
Http://Teese.us/4x to buy tickets for Thursday's makeup show.---
I know that many of you will find reasons to be angry about the cancellation, but all the shows are closing, plus we have no choice because there is no power and no transportation for people trying to make it to the shows. (Not to mention no tech rehearsals!) The good news is that right now, you can get good tickets for the Tuesday show if you act fast...plus it's our last show, so it will be the wildest one! We promise!
Thank you for understanding.
Meanwhile, I am here playing UNO by candlelight at my hotel with friends.
Looking forward to basking in the pink spotlight!
As you've surely known for a while now if you bought a ticket to tonight's NYC show at Best Buy Theater, that Adam Ant show was postponed to October 6th. Tickets for the new NYC date are on sale, and all dates are listed below...
Unfortunately, Helm was unable to attend the awards show due to an undisclosed "medical procedure" which also forced the postponement of his February 10th show at the Wellmont Theater in NJ. He's also sitting out of the next Midnight Ramble. His site reads: "Levon will be undergoing a medical procedure that will necessitate his absence from the February 25th Ramble. We wish him the best and we know he will have a speedy recovery. We'll continue with the normal Ramble schedule with special guests joining the band." We also wish him the best and a speedy recovery!" The last Ramble happened on 2/4 (they've been on a break since).
Things are looking good though because tickets are already on sale for a makeup NJ show taking place April 6 at The Wellmont Theatre. All tickets purchased for the canceled performance will also be honored at the show in April. Levon's next scheduled show is March 2nd in MA. All dates are listed below.
All Levon Helm, and all Deer Tick tour dates are listed below.

Tonight's cancelled Jon Spencer Blues Explosion show at Maxwell's has been rescheduled for November 29th. Jon says, ""I am terribly sorry but Russell has fallen ill and been told by his doctor not to play tonight's show. The condition is not serious, and should pass, but right now Russell can not rock'n'roll. Gotta cancel the gig. Sorry for any inconvenience. The date has been rescheduled for Tuesday November 29th. Maxwell's will honor any advance tickets purchased for October 13th. If people needs refunds they can get them wherever they bought the ticket. Ticketfly will send a notice out to on-line buyers."
Speaking of 90's Matador bands, Chavez, who recently played ATP in NJ (and Lit Lounge), appeared on Jimmy Fallon last night (10/12). They played two songs (one on air, one for web). Videos of both, along with more pictures from their ATP set (setlist included), below...
Mogwai @ MHOW in 2009 (more by Ryan Muir)
It is with the utmost regret that for medical reasons we have to postpone our American shows this week and cancel the I'll Be Your Mirror performance. We will announce new dates as soon as possible and apologise for the last minute nature of this announcement.Damn, I hope everything is ok. Mogwai were scheduled to play already-rescheduled shows at Webster Hall on Monday and Tuesday (with the Soft Moon) and ATP over the weekend. (thx Hiro)

Wiz Khalifa also has a Summerstage show coming up.

I knew that Steve Ignorant saying "The only the problem is the visas" wasn't a good sign. Steve posted the following 'Emergency Annoucement' to his website:
I'm really really gutted to have to let you all know that we have to reschedule our USA and Canadian gigs. There's a delay with the issue of the visas we require to enter the USA. We hope it will all be sorted soon but we will NOT be able to make the scheduled gigs. The first show, originally scheduled for March 10th at Santos, is now the last and happening on May 8th, and the recently-added 3/26 show at Don Hill's has now been moved to 4/20 at Europa, making it the new first show of the tour.
I would ask everyone to please hold onto your tickets and give us about a week to announce new dates. We will reschedule as soon as possible and tickets will be valid for the rescheduled dates, however, if you think 'fuck it, I want my money back', then do that and I will completely understand.
I know that loads of you have been planning to travel for these gigs and that rescheduling them will be a right kick in the bollocks for you. I'm really, really genuinely very sorry about this. Please understand that this situation is costing me and the band a load of emotional upset, it's not the money, it's the letting you lot down, the bands that we were going to play with, all the people that have worked so fucking hard to put this thing together and if we could have done anything to avoid it we would have. Honestly, with all my heart, there was nothing else we could do. PLEASE, if you could let other gig-goers know that it's off for now through your emails and face books or whatever means you can please do so. I know these are only typed words and words aint enough but it's all I can do. To say I feel a right xxxt would be an understatement. This is the worse thing I've ever had to do. We really appreciate your support and we will do these gigs one way or another. Here are the rescheduled dates that will be confirmed as soon as our visas are confirmed. Until the powers that be grant us entry there's nothing more I can do at the moment. Again, I'm really so sorry about all this.
Everything is tbc pending visas but we are hoping they will get issued this week.
All tickets will be good for the rescheduled shows.
Meanwhile, the 3/10 show at Santos WILL happen, but just without any Crass...
Ok,so as most of you probably know by now Steve Ignorants' "Crass" has had some visa issues and is moving their show originally scheduled for THIS THURSDAY March 10th @ Santos Party House in NYC to May 8th 2011.All rescheduled tour dates are below.
However the rest of the bands on the bill WILL BE PLAYING!!!
Line up is as follows:
THULSA DOOM (reunion)
and special guest maybe.
Show has two ticket prices:
$5 for anyone bringing proof of either a ticket or print out proving they purchased an online ticket for Crass (and you'll still be able to use that ticket at the CRASS make-up show on May 8th).
$8 everyone else., Doors at 7pm, Show starts at 8pm

HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS RESCHEDULED!
(12.28.10 - 3:00PM EST)
***saddest update ever from the Brokenhearted Blizzard Wizard***
(aka least popular girl in Asbury)
It is highly unlikely that any roads in Asbury Park will be cleared any time soon and therefore unlikely that we will be able to have a show at The Stone Pony even by tomorrow or Thursday. In anticipation of this likelihood that we will have to continue to cancel or postpone all shows, we have decided to move the entire Home For The Holidays to FEBRUARY 9-12, 2011. We know so many of you have made special arrangements and plans to be here and we wish things could be different. Tickets from the first night (Dec 26) will be honored on Wednesday February 9th, tickets from the 2nd night (Dec 27) will be honored on February 10, the 3rd night (Dec 28) on February 11th, and the 4th night (Dec 29) on February 12. So confusing!!! We are working on the revised schedule (not all the bands will be able to come back :( mope mope) and will announce those on Tuesday, January 11th. Refunds will be available at the point of purchase, but we really hope you can join us in February...
Drowning in tears and waist-deep in snow, with great love from Asbury Park HQ
p.s. For those of you stuck in town, we are working on a consolation party for later... Stay tuned... But please please please, other people, you cannot even drive to town, let alone park, so don't try to come unless you are walking!!!
The Bouncing Souls were supposed to kick off their 4th annual 'Home for the Holidays' run of shows at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park last night (12/26), but...
"We are concerned for everyone traveling and have no choice but to postpone. [Sunday]'s events will be moved to THURSDAY Dec 30th. Show time will still be at 7pm. The Great ExplainerAs you can see, I crossed out "and Strike Anywhere" because they have since announced that The Loved Ones will replace them on the rescheduled show.
and Strike Anywherewill still play, but sadly A.O.D. will not be in NJ by then. We are also moving the afterparty at the Asbury Lanes to Thursday night. We will still be playing the first 2 albums on Thursday. The other nights' schedules will remain unchanged. We hope you can join us on Thursday. If you can't, please request a refund at the point of purchase by noon on Thursday. Be safe, stay warm. With heavy hearts we remain yours."
UPDATE: Tonight's show is cancelled too:
Holy smokes!!! For those of you outside the Jersey Shore zone of disaster: there is a lot of snow (2-5 foot drifts!!) and gnarly winds. We are under a state of emergency and transportation is impossible. The roads are not plowed in Asbury park and are impassible. We have no choice but to cancel tonight's show. Please go to the point of purchase for a refund. If you purchased your ticket from Chunksaah Online, we will refund your PayPal account in the next 3 days (4 day pass holders will get back $25). This is really disappointing for all of us, not the festive holiday party we planned at all! I just spoke to the Fake Problems camp and they are unable to get a flight. Lemuria were more than willing to attempt to get here but I told them to stay safe in Syracuse. The crazy kids in The Swellers made it all the way to the Asbury exit of the Garden State Parkway (represent Flint, MI!!!). We are so grateful to everyone for these heroic efforts!! The poster signing for 4-day pass holders will now be on Wednesday at 6pm. The shoe sale will be Wednesday at 7pm. If you are stuck in town... Check back later, we will try to have a get together later if we can ever get anywhere... With sighs and mopes we deliver these sad tidings... -K8Stay tuned to BouncingSouls.com for more updates, and check out the whole week's schedule (as of now), below...
The Sword at SXSW with the departed Wingo (more by Samantha Marble)

The band has rescheduled their previously cancelled US dates. The new NYC date takes place at Webster Hall on December 4th. Previously puchased tickets will be honored, and new tickets will be on sale soon.

Modest Mouse @ Wellmont Theater, July 22, 2010
Due to inclement weather the July 23rd Modest Mouse show at the Williamsburg Waterfront was forced to be rescheduled. The new show date is confirmed for September 14th.Awesome news, especially since those who went to the July 23rd show are getting an extra show in addition to the set by Morning Teleportation and five Modest Mouse songs they already saw (I realize those who traveled far for the show might not agree).
Any patrons unable to attend the rescheduled date should contact Ticketmaster before August 27th at 5pm. Tickets purchased at Ticketmaster outlets and the Nokia Theatre Times Square box office can be exchanged in person for tickets to the rescheduled show. On August 29th Ticketmaster will reissue all tickets purchased online and by phone via the original method of delivery for the rescheduled date.
OSA would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding while we worked to get the show rescheduled.
The Open Space Alliance for North Brooklyn (OSA) www.osanb.org is a nonprofit organization helping to preserve and enhance green space in North Brooklyn. OSA raises funds, links community volunteers, and works in partnership with elected officials and agencies to develop new parks, and improve existing parks in Williamsburg/Greenpoint.
The Williamsburg Waterfront is located at North 8th Street & Kent Avenue at the East River State Park in Brooklyn, NY.
One night before the Brooklyn show, the same two bands played a show at Wellmont Theater in NJ. Modest Mouse was able to play a whole set at that one. The 19-song NJ setlist, and more pictures from that show, and all upcoming tour dates, below...
Live Nation Entertainment announced today that the U2 360° tour dates in the US, which were recently postponed due to Bono's emergency back surgery, have all been rescheduled for Spring/Summer 2011 with all tickets being valid at the rescheduled performances.Rescheduled dates below....
The 2010 European tour, which has not been affected, begins as scheduled on August 6th in Turin.
U2's manager Paul McGuinness thanked fans for their ongoing support, "We're delighted the dates are rescheduled and in all the same venues we originally planned to play. It hasn't been easy to accomplish this and I'd like to thank the managers of the many venues and sports teams across North America and Live Nation Global Touring for their help and cooperation in making this complex new plan possible. Above all we want to thank the U2 fans for bearing with us. They're the best and the band wants to get back to where they belong, surrounded by their audience."
Erykah Badu @ Good Units in March (more by Ryan Muir)
In case you're wondering why Erykah Badu didn't play Roseland Tuesday night, it's because that show and others on her upcoming tour were rescheduled. The new date for Roseland is June 7th, where she'll play with Janelle Monae and ?uestlove. Tickets were still on sale yesterday, but currently not on sale at all.... which might be because Ticketmaster is confused about the date change (yesterday it said "day of show price"). Janelle Monae travels with Erykah for a good part of that tour, all the dates of which are posted below.
On June 26th, Erykah will be back in NYC to open for Maxwell at MSG (one of two shows he plays at the venue). Tickets are still on sale for that.
Her tour is in support of her new record New Amerykah Part Two (Return of the Ankh). All dates (which also include some Lilith Fair dates) are below...
UK shoegazers Chapterhouse have rescheduled a pair of Brooklyn shows after canceling their early May dates because of the volcanic ash that grounded European flights. The new shows for the reformed band will happen on October 3rd and 4th at The Bell House. Tickets are on sale (and tickets for the old dates will be honored for their corresponding night). I assume that all the cancelled dates will happen around then too (especially since a San Francisco one is also showing on Ticketweb with an October 9th date next to it).
The band successfully played the UK and Japan in March and April. Videos from those shows are below...

Titus Andronicus w/ Cassie from Vivian Girls @ SUNY - 4/14 (OpenEye)
That's Cassie Ramone from Vivian Girls on stage with Titus Andronicus at the SUNY Purchase student center on 4/14. Her other band The Babies also played that show.
Vivian Girls played with the Grates and Reading Rainbow at Maxwell's in Hoboken last night (4/23). The show was to celebrate 5 years of MusicSnobbery. Titus Andronicus's tour continues with a show at the same venue tonight (4/24). The sold out gig also has Harlem and Spider Bags on the bill, BUT FIRST: Los Campesinos! will play Maxwell's after all. After rescheduling and then cancelling the show completely, Los Campesinos! have re-rescheduled their show at the NJ venue for 3PM TODAY ("NOTE: if you bought tix @ Ticketweb for 4/17 or 4/21 you will need to re-buy. We regret the inconvenience.").
Los Campesinos! kick off the rest of their tour Sunday in Boston. The new date for the NYC show at Irving Plaza is Monday, April 26th.
Harlem played a show last night at Monster Island Basement (originally scheduled for Market Hotel), and at Mercury Lounge the night before that.
by Bill Pearis
Holiday Shores @ Pianos in 2009 (more by Tim Griffin)
For a while it didn't look like Saturday's (4/24) Bruar Falls First Anniversary show was going to be much of a party. The 1990s are stuck in the UK thanks to that pesky volcano, and German Measles canceled due to a death in the family.
To say they've recovered is a bit of an understatement. Check out the new line-up: Holiday Shores, Micachu & the Shapes, Beach Fossils, plus house band Moonmen on the Moon, Man. There's also DJs Peggy Wang (of Pains at Being Pure at Heart) and Shirley Braha (of NY Noise), plus balloons and a 1AM open bar. It should be mentioned that the show is FREE.
Holiday Shores will be running over to Bruar following their opening set at the Morning Benders show Brooklyn Vegan is presenting at Music Hall of Williamsburg (we added them a while ago, but didn't rush to announce it because the show was already sold out), that now also includes our Montreal friends The Luyas (who we added yesterday!). Meanwhile Micachu have been stuck in the U.S. also thanks to the volcano, and have been playing around NYC to keep themselves busy. Maybe you saw them last night at Mercury Lounge. And Beach Fossils are one of the areas best new bands, and put on a fun live show -- they were great last Friday at Bruar Falls, even with a substitute drummer.
Bruar Falls has become one of my favorite places to see a show (living two blocks from it doesn't hurt) and there's always a nice community vibe there. It's been a great addition to the Williamsburg music scene. Between the bands, the free booze, the balloons and the very affordable entrance fee, this should be a hot ticket even on a very busy Saturday night. You might want to get there early.
Speaking of Saturday, The Music Hall Show on Saturday with Morning Benders, Holiday Shores and The Luyas is sold out, but if you really want to go we're giving away a pair of tickets. Just send an email to BVCONTESTS@HOTMAIL.COM with "Morning Benders" as the subject. We'll pick a winner at random and be in touch with the lucky person tomorrow.
In other news, the 1990s show at The Bell House that was supposed to be tonight has been rescheduled for next Friday, April 30 (the whole show, not just the 1990s). Crystal Stilts, The Oranges Band (who just opened for the Hold Steady at Music Hall) and The Forgery Series (featuring Sohrab of Obits) will open. No word on whether the 1990s will play a makeup date for Bruar as well, but we'll keep you informed.
Check out a Holiday Shores video below...
"Maxwell's, come on! Don't let me down, LCs!" - Anonymous
"As ash continues to belch into the atmosphere from Iceland's now world-famous Eyjafjallajokull volcano, stranding thousands of travelers around the globe, two main questions are: How long will the eruption last, and could it eventually affect the world's climate? The other problem with volcanic eruptions is that they totally mess with bands' ability to travel the world freely. After already being forced to cancel their Friday night Culture Shock show, Los Campesinos! have announced they also won't make it in time for Saturday's show with Cymbals Eat Guitars at Maxwell's either.
Unfortunately, scientists appear uniform in their uncertainty.
"We don't know how long this eruption will go on," says Stefan Wastegard, a geologist who studies ancient ash falls from Icelandic volcanoes at Stockholm University in Sweden. "That's the problem with volcanic eruptions, you really don't know how they're going to go.""
Luckily they have some free time in their schedule though (LC! are scheduled to play Toronto on April 20th and Irving Plaza in NYC on April 22nd), because they're going to make up the NJ show on Wednesday, April 21st. All tickets from Saturday will be honored, and I assume there will be refunds and new tickets opening up as well.
Their tour is with NYC's Cymbals Eat Guitars who are still scheduled to appear, earlier in the day, at Generation Records this Saturday (unlike Walter Schreifels who was forced to cancel because of the volcano). (thx Adam & Chris & Chris)
Stay tuned for more Volcano updates as we hear about them.
