Jelly's new Saturday series of free summer shows kicked off Saturday afternoon at their new outdoor space they've called Rock Yard. Originally a bit lacking in the exciting lineup department, the show suddenly became much more tempting when they announced the addition of Thee Oh Sees after the Seaport show (which by the way meant that last year Thee Oh Sees played Siren and this year they were coincidentally competing with it). Gothamist: Do you have spaces in mind for similar shows next year?Videos of the Hold Steady playing the Pool this past Sunday below....Sarah Hooper (JellyNYC): Yes we do, The Open Space Alliance, Parks Department and even Marty Markowitz's office has been very clear that there will be a space for concerts no matter what in Williamsburg. Any prospects for a space that you can talk about?
As well, since there is no McCarren next year, we have decided to take Pool Parties national....

As Gothamist and Curbed have pointed out, McCarren Park Pool will be back for at least one more summer of concerts in 2008. After that? Other stuff.

You remember the McCarren Pool slip N' slide right? Well, yesterday (Sunday, July 8, 2007) at the Dan Deacon/Erase Errata/Octopus Project show they must have announced 'last call' or something, because all of a sudden....
