The Shirts & Destroy website is a mainstay in the metal/hardcore community, showcasing merchandise (like shirts) and art from names like Seldon Hunt, Florian Bertmer, Thomas Hooper, Justin Bartlett, Watain, Amenra, Wolvhammer, All Pigs Must Die (who released their debut EP via S&D) and many, many others. S&D have opened their flagship store today at 293 Manhattan Ave in Brooklyn (an old social club).
In conjunction with the opening, a gallery show is happening at The Cotton Candy Machine (235 South 1st St, Williamsburg) entitled The Exquisite Corpse. The show, which runs from 9/9 - 10/9, features collaborative pieces from S&D mainstays like Seldon Hunt, Ryan Begley, David Cook, Thomas Hooper and many others. The opening reception is today (9/9) from 7PM until 11PM.
The works will be available for purchase, with a portion of the proceeds going towards Brooklyn-based non-profit Project Luz. Check out some of those collaborative works at the Cotton Candy Machine site, and head to the show to see some of those works in person.
