The website server host performed an upgrade on the server and some things aren't working right now. In case you see an error or a page doesn't load, you know why. :(

Cops showed up twice at the show happening in Sunset Park on Friday night (June 13, 2008). Frankpollis was about to go on around 2am. That's when the cops showed up for the 2nd time. That's when the party ended and approximately 8 people (including the guy in the above picture) were taken to jail without explanation to others at the party. Adam Green did not get to play, but he and his band were there and ready to go on last. He also wasn't arrested. More details soon.
the Ting Tings @ SXSW 2008 (CRED)

Yes, the flyer you saw on this site, on MySpace, in emails and elsewhere said that the Ting Tings were playing the free BrooklynVegan party this past Thursday morning at 11:30 am (early, I know). Yes, the mass "Free Yr Radio" text message I sent out that morning said to get there on time to see the Ting Tings. Yes, the Ting Tings even showed up.....that WAS them (and their many handlers) you saw standing in and around Emo's Annex with their gear and on stage somewhat ready to go. And YES, that's correct - they didn't end up playing, and yes that was their van you saw driving off into the distance at around 11:20. Why? According to them, "there was a time issue". According to me....well, it doesn't really matter what I think, so I'll just say I'm sorry on behalf of everyone involved. Tour dates below....

You may still be experiencing technical difficulties. BrooklynVegan.com was just upgraded to new software, and we're still working the bugs out of the new system - slowly, but surely (and slightly at the expense of sleep and new content. sorry!). I'll ask people to report any errors again in a few days, but for now they are to be expected. thanks!

As some have noticed, this website is going through a little trouble right now. You might recognize the phrase "Internal Server Error". It's a recurring problem that makes me want to cry - often leading to less sleep and more gray hair. Luckily (hopefully), that should all be in the past very soon. Qualified people are working on an upgrade to the whole system as we speak. The goal: a faster and more-functioning website in 2008 (commenting especially). Thanks!
