NICK ZINNER TAKES A PICTURE

Yeah Yeah Yeahs played the first of two NYC small-club shows at Bowery Ballroom in NYC Friday night (Feb. 24, 2006). Saturday night they're at Bowery again, and then a tour.

Bowery Ballroom is such a great venue, and maybe for that reason alone I thought this show was so much better than the one at Maxwell's the night before - better sound, higher stage. The Modern Age thinks Maxwell's was better. Amrit reviewed the show for Stereogum. Eric has another review. Sideproject was there too.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs played the first of their mini-small-club-tour shows at Maxwell's in NJ last night (Feb 23, 2006). Blood on the Wall opened, and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs took the stage about 10:30. They were finished with their 2 song encore around 11:30. To quote Karen O, they played "90% new material". I liked it, though general consensus among the many fellow-show-goers on the PATH train ride home leaned toward disappointment with the set list. Overall rating = thumbs up - left me wanting more.
Imaad Wasif didn't play on all songs. They played "Maps" acoustic style. Maxwell's stage is low to the ground. I wasn't really close to the stage so I didn't even know Karen O was wearing tights. Chris has another detailed review.

Arcade Fire in the Live Lounge
09 September 2005
"Arcade Fire are very much the band of the moment so we just had to get them into the Live Lounge, naturally! They told us what they made of performing at the Reading and Leeds festivals and which big names are already fans of the band.
They also performed their current single 'Rebellion (Lies)'. You can hear it all again, plus an online exlusive cover version of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs track 'Maps'."
