Artists have been covering Galaxie 500 songs all August in celebration of the vinyl release of the band’s Copenhagen live album, which is out Saturday for Record Store Day.

”Here She Comes Now” is one of the few Velvet Underground songs The Feelies have never covered, and Mercer’s rendition is to promote the Record Store Day reissue of Galaxie 500’s live album Copenhagen.

The documentary about much-loved, much-missed NYC record store Other Music features interviews with members of The National, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Animal Collective, Le Tigre, Luna, Interpol, and more.

Twenty artists are covering Galaxie 500 to celebrate the Record Store Day reissue of their live Copenhagen album, including Mark Lanegan, Mercury Rev, Calvin Johnson, Papercuts, The Feelies’ Glenn Mercer, and more.

This new single also marks the first time Dean Wareham has worked with Kramer since Galaxie 500.

The Other Music documentary is streaming this weekend (April 17-20) to help support independent record stores and movie theaters hurt by COVID-19 closures.
