Houston’s awesome Day for Night festival is less than two weeks away, and the schedule has now been revealed.

It’s officially End-of-the-Year list season as Rough Trade Shops — always first out of the gate — have announced their Top 100 Albums of 2017…

The tour is surrounding their appearance at Big Ears.

Arranged in half-circle formation, Godspeed You! Black Emperor’s guitar, bass, double bass, and violin section resounded with layered wavelengths of static tones which phased in and out of melody, soaring over the polite and professional crowd. Providing structure to this wall of noise was a double drum performance: a tempo-kept arrangement of slamming floor toms and the occasional crash and snare hit…

The awesome lineup also includes Jenny Hval, Juana Molina, Julie Byrne, Kelly Lee Owens, Laurel Halo, Lightning Bolt, Rostam, Sam Amidon, Steve Gunn, and still much more.

This week’s show features songs by Solange, The War on Drugs, Earl Sweatshirt, Morrissey, St. Vincent, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Alex Lahey, The Jesus Lizard, Protomartyr, Thom Yorke, Lil B, Interpol, the late great Charles Bradley and more.

This week’s Notable Releases include Phoebe Bridgers’ must-hear debut album, Rapsody’s long-awaited sophomore album, Chelsea Wolfe’s latest triumph, and more.
