One day after Pitchfork published their list of the top 100 songs of 2020, they’ve shared their list of the 50 best albums of the year…

You can probably guess #1.

As you might expect from one of the last big music magazines still in print, it’s heavy on mainstream pop and classic rock, including Taylor Swift, Bob Dylan, Lady Gaga, Bruce Springsteen, BTS, Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, Halsey, The Weeknd, Paul McCartney, and AC/DC.

NPR’s Top 50 Albums includes some of the ones we’ve been seeing on many of these end-of-year lists, but NPR always has its own flavor.

Cat Stevens / Yusuf’s 1970 albums ’Tea for the Tillerman’ and ’Mona Bone Jakon’ turn 50 this year.

Also nominated this year: Fiona Apple, Fontaines DC, Bonny Light Horseman, The Strokes, Brittany Howard, Michael Kiwanuka, Sturgill Simpson, Haim, Tame Impala, Laura Marling and more.

As a magazine that still regularly puts ’60s icons on its cover, you might not be too surprised at their #1.
