Hurray for the Riff Raff

The 2018 Brooklyn Folk Festival happens April 6-8 at St. Ann and the Holy Trinity Church and features R. Crumb with The East River String Band, Spirit Family Reunion, John Cohen with the Down Hill Strugglers, Elizabeth Mitchell & Suni Paz, Innov Gnawa, and lots more.

Usual suspects like Kendrick, SZA, and Lorde, and some more surprising stuff too.

NPR Music’s list includes tracks from Cardi B, Big Thief, King Krule, Drake, Harry Styles, Father John Misty, and more.

As always, NPR’s list mixes the pop/rock/rap/electronic/etc choices that most lists have with jazz, contemporary classical, and other stuff you may not have heard of.

Kendrick Lamar appears on the list four times, including at #2 for “DNA.”… can you guess who beats him for #1?

Having been rained out in 2016 and taking 2017 off, Levitation returns to downtown Austin in 2018 from April 26 – 29…

Trey Anastasio Band, Hurray for the Riff Raff, and Aaron Neville join Dave on the lineup of “A Concert for Island Relief,” with proceeds going to hurricane relief efforts in the British Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and mainland US.

As usual, Uncut‘s list has some similarities to their sister publication MOJO, but they have some other surprises in store too.
