Bang on a Can’s 2024 Long Play festival features over 60 concerts at venues within walking distance of each other in downtown Brooklyn from May 3-5.

The event will also feature Patti’s children Jesse Paris Smith and Jackson Smith, as well as Jay dee Daugherty and Tony Shanahan.

After cancelling a show in Bologna midway through December due to illness, Patti Smith returned to the stage at the end of the month for a pair of Brooklyn shows to celebrate her birthday.

Patti recently joined The National onstage for “I Need My Girl” at their Homecoming Festival, and she’ll again celebrate her birthday in NYC this December.

The National played a two-plus-hour, career-spanning set, and Patti Smith opened and included a tribute to Television’s Tom Verlaine.
