Tonight’s NYC-area shows include Metronomy, Massive Attack (DJ set), Stereolab, Billy Bragg, Woodsist Festival, Madonna, 2019 Global Citizen Festival, Bodega, Mates of State, and more.

As has happened in past years, this weekend is a celebration of legendary NYC punk venue Max’s Kansas City. The 2019 Reunion, which started last night at Arlene’s Grocery and runs through Saturday (6/8) features many of the bands who played there during its 1975-1981 era, including Tuff Darts, Sic F*cks, Walter Lure’s old band The Waldos, Nihilistics, and more…

Waldos, Sic F*cks, Reagan Youth, The Brats, Nihilistics, New York Junk and lots more playing this three day celebration of the iconic NYC ’70s punk venue.

Blondie’s Clem Burke, The Replacements’ Tommy Stinson, Johnny Thunders & the Heartbreakers’ Walter Lure, and MC5’s Wayne Kramer performed the Heartbreaker’s ‘L.A.M.F.’ at four NYC shows. We caught the Marlin Room show with Blondie singer Deborah Harry, Dead Boys’ Cheetah Chrome, The Dictators’ Handsome Dick Manitoba, and more.
