Tribeca Film Festival

The 2021 Tribeca Film Festival happens in-person and outdoors from June 9-20 and also includes films on Rick James, A-Ha, and more.

Celebrating its 20th anniversary, Tribeca will be the first major film festival to be held in-person since the pandemic and will feature outdoor screenings across the city.

The 2020 edition of the festival included films on Brian Wilson, The Go-Go’s, St. Vincent, Big Freedia, Ronnie Wood, DMX, Serj Tankian, Banksy, Ricky Powell, Pharrell, Yung Lean, Harry Belafonte, the NYC premiere of Pete Davidson’s The King of Staten Island, and more.

Willie Nelson, Nile Rodgers and more will play the 2020 Tribeca Film Festival’s opening night as part of the world premiere for new documentary, Jimmy Carter Rock & Roll President.

The timely film that just premiered at Tribeca Film Festival will also screen at Woodstock’s original location Bethel Woods this summer.

Following a Tribeca Film Festival 35th anniversary screening of ’This is Spinal Tap,’ Michael McKean, Christopher Guest and Harry Shearer played a set of acoustic Tap classics, and brought out Elvis Costello…

Also added to Tribeca Film Fest: events with Trey Anastasio, Francis Ford Coppola, Mike Birbiglia, Queen Latifah, Questlove, The Simpsons, and more.

There are lots of music films at TFF this year, including documentaries about Other Music, Shannon Hoon, Sublime, Linda Ronstadt, D’Angelo, Bill Wyman, Woodstock, Lil Buck, Inna De Yard, Michael Hutchence, and more.

”Reality Bites was a formative experience in my life. To have a 25 year anniversary screening is very exciting,” said Stiller. ”I’m looking forward to seeing the whole cast, and possibly changing the ending so Michael gets Lelaina.”

She also covered Buffalo Springfield at the show, which was part of Tribeca Film Festival and included the premiere of Patti’s new concert film.
