A2IM Libera Awards

Hannibal Buress hosts the annual ceremony highlighting “the successes of the independent music community” that also features performances by Margo Price, Shemekia Copeland, Dawn Richard + Spencer Zahn, and more.

Prine’s Libera Awards performance comes just a couple days before playing The Apollo Theater.

While A2IM Indie Week is mostly for music industry types, there are some shows happening as part of it.

The annual Libera Awards with Aimee Mann, The Dap-Kings featuring Lee Fields (paying tribute to Sharon Jones & Charles Bradley); Jack Antonoff’s Shadow of the City fest with Julien Baker, Turnover, Beach Slang, and more; First Aid Kit; Shakey Graves; and more NYC-area shows on sale.

Ani DiFranco’s new album includes a song with vocals from Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon. DiFranco will also perform and win an award at this year’s A2IM Libera Awards at Playstation Theater.

Kamasi Washington, Courtney Barnett, Against Me!, Julien Baker, Sufjan Stevens, Beach House, Run the Jewels and more picked up nominations for the A2IM Libera Awards.
