Similar to last year’s Beastie Boys Book: Live & Direct, Ad Rock and Mike D will tell the Beastie Boys story and are being filmed for a later release.

We’re not 100% sure what this entails but “Beastie Boys As Story Told By Ad Rock & Mike D,” and directed by Spike Jonze, is coming to Brooklyn’s Kings Theatre in April…

Adam “Ad Rock” Horovitz and Michael “Mike D” Diamond continued their “Beastie Boys Book: Live and Direct” tour on Tuesday (10/31) with their second NYC show, this time at Brooklyn’s Kings Theatre.

There were costume and set changes, laughter and touching moments at this celebration of the Beastie Boys’ new memoir.

The audiobook version of ’The Beastie Boys Book’ features an incredible cast of narrators including Nas, Steve Buscemi, Kim Gordon, Jarvis Cocker, Snoop Dogg, Will Ferrell, Rosie Perez, Elvis Costello, Chuck D, Jon Stewart, NY1’s Pat Kiernan, Maya Rudolph, Bette Midler, Jon Stewart, and Ben Stiller.

’Beastie Boys Book’ is not your typical memoir, and includes includes a cookbook by chef Roy Choi, a graphic novel, a map of Beastie Boys’ New York, mixtape playlists, rare photos, original illustrations, and pieces by guest contributors like Amy Poehler, Colson Whitehead, Spike Jonze, Wes Anderson, and Luc Sante.

“The House that Yauch Built” gives visitors a virtual-reality, interactive tour of Adam Yauch’s home studio.

Mike D says that book ”isn’t exactly a memoir,” and it reportedly will include a cookbook section.
