Aloha streaming new album, add tour dates

Marimba-loving indie vets Aloha are releasing their seventh album and first in six years, Little Windows Cut Right Through, next week (5/6) via Polyvinyl, and they’re now streaming it in full. As mentioned, they’re taking an overt ’80s-style approach this time (with The Blue Nile and Prefab Sprout namedropped as influences), and much of the album makes that very clear…

Aloha releasing first album in 6 years (stream "Don't Wanna Win")

They’ve already released two songs off the record, “Signal Drift” and “Faraway Eyes,” the latter of which is a great example of the ’80s influence they have on this new record. (They recently shared a playlist of songs that influenced the album, including Prefab Sprout, The Blue Nile, and Tango In The Night-era Fleetwood Mac, to give you an idea.) We’re premiering a third single, “Don’t Wanna Win,” which has less of that synthy shine and more in the way of clean, jangly guitars.
