The National recently wrapped up the first leg of their tour supporting their great new album, ’I Am Easy to Find,’ in Chicago with Alvvays.

Canada Day is not till July 1, but SummerStage in Central Park celebrated early on Wednesday night with an entire bill made up of our neighbors to the north, including Alvvays, The Courtneys and Ellis.

SummerStage has announced its 2019 lineup of over 100 free shows which happen at NYC parks in all five boroughs, including Japanese Breakfast, Big Freedia, FELA! The Concert, Young M.A, The Wailers, Parquet Courts, The Mountain Goats, Corinne Bailey Rae, Alvvays, and more.

Plus: 88rising’s Head in the Clouds fest, Reigning Sound, Rockstar Energy’s ‘Disrupt Festival’ tour, Todd Barry, and more tour-related news.

The lineup also includes Snail Mail, Car Seat Headrest, Colter Wall, Julia Jacklin, Haley Heynderickx, Steve Gunn, and more.

Day one of ACL Festival’s first weekend featured a headlining set from Paul McCartney, who dedicated “Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite!” to the late Geoff Emerick, as well as sets from The National, Brockhampton, David Byrne, Manchester Orchestra, Alvvays, Gang of Youths, The Weather Station, Ravyn Lenae, Big Thief, Natalie Prass, and more.

Snail Mail and Hatchie joined Alvvays for the encore, covering The Hummingbirds’ “Alimony.”
